Check Out Goodluck Buddha’s Story

Today we’d like to introduce you to Goodluck Buddha.

Hi Goodluck, we’re thrilled to have a chance to learn your story today. So, before we get into specifics, maybe you can briefly walk us through how you got to where you are today?
Started from the bottom, now I’m here! What started off as a simple idea to bring luck to the neighborhood. Has grown into a worldwide game of hide and seek. From very humble beginnings of just slapping stickers on signs in passing to traveling to art shows and Street Art Meccas across the states!

Would you say it’s been a smooth road, and if not what are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced along the way?
Nope, not at all! Lol, haters come in all shapes and sizes. The art scene wants to praise itself as an “Everyone’s Welcome” here type of scene but it is far from that. Don’t get me wrong there are a ton of folks that are 100% supportive of the scene and the growing of the scene. Those that know me know who they are! And wouldn’t be here without them. In the early days, I really didn’t know what I was doing, still don’t lol but the kickback I got from folks when asking for help was unreal. So had to learn everything on my own the hard way. Which now in hindsight was great, I’ve learned a lot and continue to grow and evolve.

Appreciate you sharing that. What else should we know about what you do?
My work is always evolving. It started as simple ideas on vinyl, now ridden with anti-political undertones. I continue to step out of my comfort zone going bigger every chance I get. I wasn’t the first wheatpaster in Austin, but I got us on the map 😉 I love hiding little pieces of art throughout our city for people to stumble upon. In a world full of wannabees, I stay true to myself and family and keep pushing for a better tomorrow.

Can you talk to us a bit about happiness and what makes you happy?
My family, and tacos! The fam has always believed in me from Day 1, I wouldn’t be here without their support. and Tacos are fuck’n Delicious. Never had a bad taco, haha.
