Today we’d like to introduce you to Shelby Beier.
Alright, so thank you so much for sharing your story and insight with our readers. To kick things off, can you tell us a bit about how you got started?
I graduated college in Wisconsin with a Graphic Design degree in 2014. Worked as a Graphic artist at a screen-printing company for over three years. Moved to Texas in 2016 and began working as a Graphic Artist for a sign printing company. In 2017, I became Communications Director for a large church while continuing to freelance design. At the end of 2019, I started working completely remotely and found the freedom and flexibility in my schedule, something I definitely wanted to keep. During 2020 I had started to set goals for myself to build my own design studio. By August 2021, I filed for my LLC and slowly started growing my own business. In January 2022, I hit the ground running and Beier Branding has been growing ever since.
Would you say it’s been a smooth road, and if not what are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced along the way?
Of course, it was not always easy. Figuring out how to actually start my business was hard. I went to school for design and knew how to design, and that was pretty much it. I didn’t realize all of the different roles that I would need to take on as an entrepreneur. I also started this with two toddlers in tow, so juggling my role as MOM (and WIFE) and CEO has also been a challenge.
Alright, so let’s switch gears a bit and talk business. What should we know about your work?
I am a graphic designer. I help other businesses/entrepreneurs create a brand for themselves, which not only includes a logo but helps identify who they are and who they want to market to. I also create websites and any promotional material needed. I dabble in Photography if the client needs help with that as well – but I focus mainly on branding and website design. I am a one-woman show but efficient with my work and focused on my client’s needs. I’m super friendly, super laid-back, and think I can relate to and get along with pretty much anyone! I cater to my client’s needs and truly want to give them the best – I love what I do and take pride in all of my work.
What was your favorite childhood memory?
My entire childhood included a lot of traveling (my dad played baseball), so getting to experience a lot of different places is something I’ll always be grateful for.
