Today we’d like to introduce you to Sarah Grimes.
Hi Sarah, we’re thrilled to have a chance to learn your story today. So, before we get into specifics, maybe you can briefly walk us through how you got to where you are today?
As a child, my family constantly moved and we always needed to find a new place to call home. Which led to house hunting which was my favorite part about moving. We relocated to Texas when I was younger and it was a big change from living in Canada. I always admired the realtors and the fact that their job was to help people find a home. Fast forward to over 15 years later and I am a licensed REALTOR® in the city of Austin, TX. My first year in Real Estate was very challenging. My marriage was struggling and COVID was everywhere. The world was mourning, struggling, and just trying to stay afloat in all of the turmoil. Thankfully, nothing lasts forever and things start to turn around. I was determined to make something of myself in Real Estate. I went on to get multiple listings and buyers. Quickly, I saw how rewarding all of my hard work and determination paid off. I am so grateful that I get to be a part of something so special for my clients and that I get to help people for a living.
Alright, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
If it’s been a smooth road, did you really get what you wanted? I often think about everything that I have been through and how far I’ve come. The clients that have burned me, the stress of finances, building a new business and the ending of my marriage. To say there have been challenges is an understatement. I am so grateful for everything that has happened to me and for me to have gained so much strength. The challenges have taught me so much and have allowed me to improve my business. I thank God for getting me through this time of my life that felt like it was never going to improve.
Great, so let’s talk business. Can you tell our readers more about what you do and what you think sets you apart from others?
My business is helping my clients buy and sell homes. My previous profession in acting, modeling, and networking/marketing has helped set me apart from everyone else in the industry. Acting has taught me to truly understand the story; the struggle, wants/needs and the overall resolution for the “characters” /my clients. Being an actor has taught me to ask in depth questions to get to the root of the problem/concern. Modeling has taught my eye to create beautiful visuals and this allows me to present my client’s properties in the best way possible on the market. My marketing and networking has allowed me to grow my online presence effectively, as well as creating new relationships with others. My communication is unmatched and a crucial part in getting my clients to win; especially in a multiple offer situation. Having a reputable brokerage, lender and title company in my business allows me to go above and beyond for my clients. Helping others accomplish their goals is a dream come true.
We all have a different way of looking at and defining success. How do you define success?
Defining success is such a personal perspective. Success to me is waking up knowing why you were put on Earth and being able to overcome any obstacle that is in your way of accomplishing your goals. Success is being happy doing what you do and knowing that you’re exactly where you need to be. Success is understanding that you will fail but it’s the drive you have to keep going that will allow you to feel fulfilled in this life.
