Today we’d like to introduce you to Mel Wu.
Hi Mel, so excited to have you with us today. What can you tell us about your story?
I have always enjoyed treating people with the food and drinks I created. The kitchen is my studio and playground.
I started making my own Kombucha during Covid and shared it with family and friends just for fun. One day, a friend asked if I’d like to supply my kombucha for a local event. I went, and that was when I realized how happy I was by just seeing people’s eyes when they took the first sip of the sample I handed over. That feeling, when you can light up someone’s soul with something you’ve created, is a privilege and an honor. That feeling made me decide to keep brewing and sharing with more and more people. From markets to grocery stores, I am still on this journey and I have learned so much and had so much fun.
I’m sure you wouldn’t say it’s been obstacle free, but so far would you say the journey have been a fairly smooth road?
Making a single batch just for my morning is easy, but making multiple kegs weekly to supply the inventory required a lot more.
There were times I felt overwhelmed, paranoid and exhausted because time was not on my side when I only wanted to offer the best bottles. I have learned so much about how to operate efficiently with automation. And the trial and error times were so valuable to the growth of my business.
Can you tell our readers more about what you do and what you think sets you apart from others?
Professionally, I am a data analyst who deals with numbers and offers business solutions for companies. Offline, I also create handmade ceramics and do magic tricks.
How can people work with you, collaborate with you or support you?
I always love to collaborate with local markets, stores, and event owners if locally handcrafted Kombucha would be an interest of yours. 🙂 And thanks so much to every one of you who has tried and liked my little fizzy drink. Y’all are the reason that keeps me going.
