Hi El, thanks for joining us today. We’d love for you to start by introducing yourself.
I grew up in Michigan near the Ohio border (in a suburb of Toledo, Ohio which is an hour south of Detroit, MI). I went vegan six years ago and moved to Austin for an old job about a year and a half ago. When I first moved, I realized I wanted to try every vegan restaurant in Austin so I combined my love of food and photography and turned my Instagram into a food blog. I started at 340 followers when I moved in July 2020, and now I’m at around 1.5k with partners such as Koia and Plow Burger.
Can you talk to us a bit about the challenges and lessons you’ve learned along the way. Looking back would you say it’s been easy or smooth in retrospect?
It’s definitely been hard — consistency is key and if I get too personal (straying from food), my followers definitely drop.
Appreciate you sharing that. What else should we know about what you do?
I’m a 21 years old who got my bachelor’s degree at 19. I’m a vegan food blogger focusing on vegan and local business who is also in leadership at a sales company.
Do you have any memories from childhood that you can share with us?
I really loved going to garage sales with my grandma as a kid.
