Meet Amanda Garcia of Sunshine, Realty Group

Today we’d like to introduce you to Amanda Garcia.

Hi Amanda, so excited to have you with us today. What can you tell us about your story?
I have always lived my life trying to focus on what good can come from any conundrum life may throw at us. When a global pandemic swept the nation at the end of the first quarter in 2020 hindering a lot of business owners and entrepreneurs, I created the Sunshine brand, Sunshine Realty Group, and Sunshine Residential Property Management.  Sunshine is a minority-owned & minority-led, full service real estate brokerage with a focus on educating realtors & the community through free resources, education and training on real estate & property management. How did I get here? I had worked with a lot of realtors, customers, clients & residents, who unfortunately, had been previously misguided on real estate, how to obtain generational wealth, buying a home, leasing standards & even how to get into the business itself as a Realtor, and succeed. I knew we needed more. More diversity, more culture, more education & resources. So I created a culture, a space of freedom and knowledge, not only for minority Realtors to grow in but for anyone & everyone we worked with too. Since launching early 2020, Sunshine has helped numerous families become homeowners, helped them retain their homes as assets to grow value and wealth and assisted others on starting the path to homeownership with Buyer Guides and free classes. Making a difference in our communities is what Sunshine was built on and what I stand by everyday.

Would you say it’s been a smooth road, and if not what are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced along the way?
Everyone faces challenges and obstacles in business. In real estate, it’s the unknown that is the most challenging. When the pandemic hit, the market and our industry was so unstable. Some people panicked while others took advantage and saw opportunity knocking. The markets fluctuate so much, new laws affect property management and deals can fall through for various reasons at any time. Since business profit(s) are not guaranteed until the deal closes, being positive, structured, resilient and having a ‘don’t give up’ attitude is a must. Some days are harder than others but keeping that positivity going is crucial and can be the biggest challenge of all in this uncertain industry.

Inspired by the hard work and efforts of Real Estate Agents, Realtors® and Brokers within the real estate sector, Sunshine Realty Group was established in 2020 during the pandemic. I wanted to create a welcoming culture of inclusion, professionalism, knowledge and respect for clients, colleagues and our team. We aim to provide local customers with an end to end solution when it comes to real estate. Our purpose is to deliver the best services to our clients in the Austin, Texas area. Whether it is buying, selling, leasing or investing, our minority woman-led brokerage will provide you with the required solutions to meet your real estate goal(s) with the experience of our agents, coupled with a strong record that speaks for itself.

Sunshine works with a variety of owners/clients in the Austin & Houston areas. We add value to our all-inclusive firm by offering Property management and Estate Management to our clients. Our team is dedicated to improving owner/investors NOI/ROI with a steady increase YOY with our strategic model.

Who else deserves credit in your story?
I have learned so much as an entrepreneur, a Realtor® and a woman in this industry. The journey has not always been easy and I wouldn’t be here today with the leadership and encouragement from two important women, Jennifer Welch, my managing broker, friend and colleague, and De’Audra Ansley from Marketing Manager to Marketing Director. They are both a crucial piece to the growth of the Sunshine brand(s).
