Meet Ana Claudia Lefranc

Today we’d like to introduce you to Ana Claudia Lefranc.

Hi Ana Claudia, thanks for sharing your story with us. To start, maybe you can tell our readers some of your backstory.
My mom was a baker as well so growing up it was always helping her out in whatever she needed. It would be from me washing all the dishes or me helping stack a cake. We traveled a lot for Quinces, sweet 16’s, weddings, etc and while I had to stay in the van and wait, I couldn’t help but dream that that would one day be me. Fast forward, once covid and lockdown hit my mom started showing me in detail her techniques since we had so much free time. I caught on pretty quick and started baking for my friends and posting it on my instagram. One of those days, a girl from my school asked me if I could replicate a cake for her mom’s birthday. I slapped a price on it and did it for her. The satisfaction and hype I received was amazing. I created my own instagram for the business and it’s only gone up from there!

Would you say it’s been a smooth road, and if not what are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced along the way?
For the most part smooth, I’m very grateful I have a mom that has experience in the baking field. My garage is nothing but cake molds, stands, supplies, etc. Anything you could ever NEED. With that backhand support I didn’t need to empty my pockets to start the business. Now, with running it, it has been bumpy. I have a separate job, part time, where I am a pre manager. I have to give as close to 40 hours as possible. With the addition of school, some nights I wouldn’t have time to sleep. The summer has been easier but I know in fall I will get much busier. Having time to juggle all that, plus my self-care and time to myself is quite a struggle.

Can you tell our readers more about what you do and what you think sets you apart from others?
I specialize in all types of deserts and treats, some examples are custom cakes, cupcakes, choc covered strawberries, breakable hearts, choc covered Oreos, and party treats. I am known for the “cake girl” at my school and work. The thing I’m proud of the most is how I’ve gotten to make all these things while juggling school, work, and staying in shape (working out). I’m proud how everything I sell is made by me, by hand and all the hard work behind it. I think what sets me apart from others, my age specifically is just again how much I’ve done and everything I can do, my capability of constantly working and bettering myself in every way possible. My strive in everything I am involved in.

Who else deserves credit in your story?
My mom is the biggest support, but the rest of my family is for sure an amazing support! My best friends are also there for me whenever I need it. One of my besties, Allison, is always one call away, in which I call her often when I mess up or need to destress myself. Another bestie, Emily, helped me come up with the business name. Edan, Jaedyn, Audrey and the rest of my friends are always my taste testers and give genuine feedback!!
