Hi Morgan, so excited to have you with us today. What can you tell us about your story?
I started Lil’ Mo Detail back in 2023, but the idea began long before that. Inspired by my grandmother, a nurse, I always wanted to serve the community. My journey took me through several customer service jobs, searching for the right way to make an impact. Then, COVID hit in 2020, leaving the world in a challenging situation. During this time, I took a break from work and focused on different things. Cleaning my car wasn’t one of them until my father noticed how filthy it was and offered me the space and equipment to clean it. Taking him up on the offer, I dove into my backseat, which was a giant collection of clothes, trash, and anything else I’d thrown back there over the months. The feeling of transforming my car from chaos to looking brand new was incredibly rewarding, and I knew I wanted to share that feeling with others. This led to cleaning my parents’ cars, my friends’ cars, and eventually turning it into a full-time business.
Being honest, this was my first month doing this full time. I had been doing it part-time for a few years, but I was holding myself back, working full-time still, and not only that, but my job was killing my drive to push myself harder. One day, I just broke down. I was not happy with where I was, and it felt like all the time I was spending at my job was forcing me into this hole.
The biggest thing for me, as well as for the majority of us, is financial/job security. Not knowing what might happen if I jumped into this full-time scared me so much. So, I had two choices: continue to be afraid of failing and never push myself, or jump and see where I land. So, I jumped, and I’m still trying to find my landing, but I did it, and guess what? I’m okay. Even better than that, I’m finally free to try.
The best part about this journey is that I got to create something dedicated to helping others, giving them the opportunity to experience the same sense of renewal I felt that day. Whether it’s just driving around or heading to work, having a fresh, clean car is a fresh start.
Lil’ Mo Detail’s story is still expanding and growing, and now that I’m doing this full-time, I can’t wait to see what else it will tell.
Can you talk to us a bit about the challenges and lessons you’ve learned along the way. Looking back would you say it’s been easy or smooth in retrospect?
The biggest truth I’ve noticed in starting this is that my greatest challenge is myself. That little voice in the back of my head has been with me every step of the way, fearing the wrong move and dreading all the unknowns. To this day, I am still challenged by these thoughts, hoping that future me isn’t hurt by the choices I make today or tomorrow. I worry that maybe I won’t be able to handle what I am building. All of my challenges, now and in the beginning, have stemmed from the fears that my mind conjured up. I will continue to be challenged by these thoughts, but I choose not to let them break what I am building.
With every obstacle, I’ve learned that perseverance and self-belief are my strongest allies. It’s a daily battle, but one worth fighting. Each step forward, no matter how small, is a victory over doubt. And while the road ahead may be uncertain, I am committed to pushing through, driven by the vision of what Lil’ Mo Detail can become.

What was your favorite childhood memory?
One childhood memory that stands out for me is the first time I rode a dirtbike. As a kid, I often went to dirtbike races because my older stepbrother was a racer. I would sit under one of the walnut trees with my family before the races started, cracking and eating the walnuts that fell from the tree.
But the memory that stays with me the most is from Christmas when my stepbrother surprised my sister and me with a dirtbike. He taught me how to ride it, and when the moment came, I took off so fast that I slammed right into the side of my dad’s truck. I remember lying there for just a moment before shooting my arm up with the biggest thumbs up I could muster, and my family laughed and cheered me on like I was some kind of daredevil.
Looking back on that moment now, it reminds me of how much of a daredevil I really am and how much I still love walnuts.
