Today we’d like to introduce you to Brad Hutt
Hi Brad, can you start by introducing yourself? We’d love to learn more about how you got to where you are today?
I had spent time working in the field of sports medicine as an athletic trainer as well as teaching high school science for eight years. I had a great job situation as a teacher/athletic trainer and could definitely envision staying in that role for the long term. But, I always had this voice in my head saying “there is more for you.”
There I was with a decision to make – stay in a comfortable job that I was good at or leave and head back for three and a half more years of chiropractic school. Selfishly, the thought of becoming a doctor appealed to me. But also, more importantly, being able to open a practice and serve a community was beyond my wildest dreams. So off I went to Parker University in Dallas to forge a new path.
Originally, I went in with the intent of being a sports chiropractor. However, I got hooked up with a group on campus that was volunteering and serving at offices all over the country on the weekends and over our school breaks. This allowed me to see a variety of offices and see the impact of a true community chiropractor. Something switched in me and the passion to serve whole families was ignited.
So, here we are! Nearly three years into practice serving pregnant moms, kiddos, and hundreds of people of all ages. We are making an impact in our community by helping people truly heal themselves and live out amazing lives.
Can you talk to us a bit about the challenges and lessons you’ve learned along the way. Looking back would you say it’s been easy or smooth in retrospect?
It has definitely not been smooth, but that was expected. Anything of worth, of value, is not going to be easy. There have been challenges all along the way and there will be more as we continue to grow and operate our practice. I believe the challenges and setbacks we experience along the way, can either deter us or inspire us to level up personally and professionally.
Going through chiropractic school was the first challenge on this journey. Most people assume it’s some easy course or one-year program, but that couldn’t be further from the truth. It’s a 3 and a half year program with full course load (22-28 credit hours per trimester). It’s a bear! It’s your full time job. But, figuring out early in school the vision I had for my future practice and clientele was really the driver behind getting through the coursework.
My brother passed away while I was in 4th trimester, so that was an additional stress that got added to my plate. Thankfully, I was able to process and navigate through that season. Then, Covid hit during the first part of my clinical rotations and shut everything down. It cut into my clinical experience, but I was able to travel to offices of former classmates who had opened and get the necessary understanding of what it took to run my own practice once I graduated.
With our current office, we faced a year-long challenge of finding the right space and then going through the renovation process. Dealing with city officials and inspections can be rather burdensome, but you just try to roll with it and stay positive. We were able to get our doors open in February of 2022 and start seeing our community. Having a vision for your business and being committed to it will, more than likely, allow you to overcome the challenges and struggles you experience all the way.
Alright, so let’s switch gears a bit and talk business. What should we know?
We provide chiropractic care to pregnant moms, kiddos, entire families, and anyone who is looking to live their life at their highest capacity. We specialize in neurologically-based chiropractic care that addresses each individual’s ability to perform optimally, whether you are the 3 year-old learning to run/jump/climb or the 40-something mom trying to juggle all the things that mom life entails. We are not a pain practice, but a prevention and performance-based practice. We assess each client on an individual basis and tailor our care to their exact needs.
What sets us apart is the experience we try to create for those in our office. We want our clients to feel at home in our office. We also want to be set apart by the results we get. Unfortunately, we usually end up being a last resort for many clients when nothing else has worked. We always want to give them hope and results. From clients who were told they would never run again, to getting off of medications, to seeing kids who were told they would never read or speak doing so. We get uncommon results because we take an uncommon approach to care by creating an entire experience and atmosphere around it.
Is there anything else you’d like to share with our readers?
“Build a building by faith and it’ll be a monument to a movement.”
There was an immense amount of faith put into opening our practice, but we really felt called that there was a shift happening in healthcare. This was how we chose our name. A “revival” in that people recognize their innate ability to restore their health and live the way God uniquely designed them. That is the message we wanted to spread and reinforce. To have our office become a beacon of hope and healing to our community was the vision and that is what continues to drive us forward day by day.
