Our journey began in Chile, where my husband and I successfully managed several businesses. As a young couple with over 20 years of experience in the graphic industry, we decided to pursue our dream of entrepreneurship in the United States.
With a strong foundation in graphic design, marketing, and business development, we made the bold decision to sell our businesses and assets in Chile and start a new chapter in Austin, Texas. We chose this city for its thriving business environment and cultural diversity, which aligned perfectly with our vision.
With hard work and determination, we secured an investor visa and established Canvas Advertising LLC, a graphic design and advertising company. Thanks to our extensive expertise and commitment to excellence, our business has grown steadily over the past year, earning a strong reputation in the industry.
We are proud to have already created jobs, contributing to the local economy while building a company that reflects our passion and dedication. Our story is a testament to resilience, ambition, and our drive to create something meaningful in a new country.
We all face challenges, but looking back would you describe it as a relatively smooth road?
Our journey has been anything but smooth, but each challenge has shaped us into who we are today. Leaving behind our home in Chile, along with the businesses we had built and the familiarity of our community, was both an exciting and heart-wrenching decision. Starting over in a new country as a young couple came with immense uncertainty.
The process of securing an investor visa required us to navigate complex systems, invest everything we had, and take risks that often felt overwhelming. Building Canvas Advertising LLC from the ground up in a highly competitive market was no small feat. We faced cultural and language barriers, learned to adapt to new regulations, and had to prove our value in a place where we were initially strangers.
There were moments of doubt, sleepless nights, and sacrifices we hadn’t anticipated being far from loved ones, missing important family milestones, and questioning if the dream we were chasing would ever take shape.
But through it all, we found strength in each other and in the belief that hard work and perseverance would pay off. Every challenge was a lesson, every setback an opportunity to grow. Today, as we look back, those struggles feel like stepping stones, guiding us to where we are now a thriving business, a supportive community, and a life built on courage and resilience.
While the road was not easy, it has been worth every twist and turn, and we are grateful for the journey that brought us here.

What would you say have been one of the most important lessons you’ve learned?
The most important lesson we’ve learned is that growth often comes from discomfort. Starting over in a new country meant facing uncertainty, sacrifice, and moments of doubt. Yet, those challenges taught us resilience, the value of adaptability, and the power of believing in ourselves.
Every obstacle became an opportunity to grow, and every step, no matter how difficult, brought us closer to building something meaningful. This journey has shown us that with determination and courage, even the toughest paths can lead to incredible destinations.
