Today we’d like to introduce you to Suzanne Fain
Hi Suzanne, thanks for sharing your story with us. To start, maybe you can tell our readers some of your backstory.
I started working with tarot cards and the energy between my hands when I was 13 years old. I’ve always found tarot to be a beautiful tool of perspective that can provide beneficial insight to day to day challenges. I never really put the tarot down for longer than a year or two since 13 – even when I grew to be a young adult and experienced so much activity from Spirit in my home that I blocked out my gifts as a defense mechanism.
It took me a long time to understand that the reason I could perceive other energies and entities that others could not was because I had a gift. Once I began to understand that, it became a lot easier to explore the realm of the metaphysical and mystical. I found ways to strengthen and explore my gifts so that I could use them to help others.
I’ve been reading tarot and working with energy in different modalities professionally since 2019. I really enjoy being a safe space for others, as well as helping them navigate the challenges and celebrations of life via tarot, energy work, and intuitive guidance. I currently work out of Sisters of Fate in Bastrop, TX. I co-founded Sisters of Fate, which is a magical retail space that caters to lovers of crystals, tarot, oracle, jewelry, and apparel.
We all face challenges, but looking back would you describe it as a relatively smooth road?
I don’t think any road is ever a smooth one, and certainly someone that tells you theirs was should be questioned. Naturally there have been challenges, as expansion means change, and change is rarely easy or simple. I have torn down and rebuilt myself multiple times and am sure I will again many more times while I am on this plane.
The earliest struggle came from others not understanding my gifts. People thought I was paranoid or perhaps even mentally unwell when I shared my experiences with paranormal activity in my home. Because of this doubt, I doubted myself. Self doubt can be quite the hurdle to overcome, and for me it is and was – taking many years for me to be comfortable enough to openly share my talents with others.
As far as my business, I met struggles such as defining what I can offer and advertising said offerings, navigating small town culture, and knowing myself enough to press forward. While the company I offer my services under, Suze Intuitive Arts, was a bit more personal, moving into a collaborative project like Sisters of Fate took a lot of work, communication, and pivoting. It has all been a joy-filled process however, because it is something that I am passionate about and enjoy sharing with others.
As you know, we’re big fans of Suze Intuitive Arts. For our readers who might not be as familiar what can you tell them about the brand?
Under Suze Intuitive Arts, I offer Intuitive guidance, tarot readings, and energy healing. I think you can find a million tarot readers, intuitives, and reiki masters online these days, but the truth is – we are all our own modalities. If you are drawn to a specific intuitive or healer, it’s for a reason. I’m not for everyone and that’s ok. I can say that I speak from the heart and while my cards don’t sugar coat much, there is a lot to be gained from the perspective I offer those who seek it. You may notice I refer to tarot as a tool of perspective, this is because a common misconception of tarot is that it can tell you the future.
I share this with my clients when topic of telling the future comes up: The past is done, there is no changing it. The future is comprised of a million possibilities and outcomes that are changed by how you move in the Present. The Present is what we are meant to live in. I can tell you that so and so will come into your life in the next 3 months – but if you leave here and take a left instead of a right and get a soup instead of a sandwich (to simplify) – you’ve already altered future outcomes.
I love doing energy work with clients. My technique is based in the Usui Reiki tradition. Reiki is a Japanese healing modality that deals with your energetic body. We all have physical forms and energetic forms. The most familiar energy portals in the body may be the chakras. I work with the primary 7 chakras in most sessions, though there are many chakras in the body. I also use meditation, grounding techniques, and sound in my work.
I kindly request at least 24 hours’ notice for all appointments. This allows me to ensure the space is energetically prepared and that I can give my full attention to your session. As my schedule is carefully planned, I am unable to accommodate same-day bookings.
Can you share something surprising about yourself?
I am also very talented at helping entrepreneurs with the organizational end of their business. I have freelance clients who I provide scheduling, client service, invoicing, social media co-management, goal setting, and consultation services to. I like help other people reach their goals whether that is via the spiritual world, or the physical one.
