Today we’d like to introduce you to Paulina Rodriguez

Hi Paulina, thanks for joining us today. We’d love for you to start by introducing yourself.
Hello my name is Paulina Rodriguez I’m 23 years old born in Guanajuato Mexico I’m the oldest out of 3. I got marry when I was 20 years old. My road to success has been a challenge with many personal challenges along the way. It all stared in 2019 when I graduated high school I didn’t know what I wanted to major in so I took a 2 year break in that time I was applying to trade school here in Austin because I wanted do study for medical assistant I applied to 3-4 places. But since I didn’t qualify with all the requirements due to my legal status it was hard for me to applied anywhere without them needing my social security. As time passed I made research in places i could go to school with what i had. That’s when in 2023 I saw the lash school I attended to I reached out to them asking them about there requirements what did I need to be able to become licensed lash technician etc. I got a text back from them 1 week or so after applying saying I did qualified and I was able to get my license to lash. That’s when my journey being. I talked to my husband about the school and what I wanted to do, how I was interested and wanting to go I didn’t work at the time so it was gonna be quite of a challenge for us since my husband was the only one working. I was able to get a part time job where I was able to do my hours and be able to pay for the school. I graduated in 2023 that’s when I started practicing on my sister my cousin,friends 3 months later I started getting clients practicing more and posting more. I then started gaining more clientele as time passes I get better at lashing loving my sets and I just love when I hand my clients the mirror and they love there lashes. Now I have a lot of my clients who I had since the beginning and they still come to me and they tell me how ,much I have improved in lashing. I am now able to post and record sets and post my work I see how much I have improved. I now lash and work at a hair salon here in round rock. I’m able to work at the hair salon and still be able to lash people. I thank god everyday for how much my life has changed since 2019 to now. I’m not where I want to be just yet with ,life but I thank god everyday for all the blessings his given me this past year. And now all I can say “pura pa delante” meaning just keep moving forward. I hope one day I’m able to open my own lash salon and hope to build more cliente and just grow more in my business I know practicing a lot would help me get there.

We all face challenges, but looking back would you describe it as a relatively smooth road?
My road to lashing was quiet of a challenge. Like I mentioned before I wasn’t able to apply in many jobs so it was kind of hard for my husband and I to afford me paying for my school, bills etc. I was able to apply to a part time job that helped me pay for my school and be able to buy what I need it. My husband bought be my first ring light and my pair of twizards so I was able to practice the first couple of month after that I was getting more clients so I had a little extra cash to be able to buy more lashing products.

Thanks – so what else should our readers know about your work and what you’re currently focused on?
I am a licensed lash technician I specialize in different type of lash sets I do wet sets, hybrids wispy, volume mega volume. I’m proud on how far I have come on all the different types of lash sets I’ve learned to, I’m proud that I’m able to give all the girly and boosted on there confidence. Being able to do different lash sets is so important because I’m able to give all my first time ladies and natural set. Something that sets me apart from other is that I am a bilingual person which I love I’m able to not only lash young girls but a lot of my Hispanic moms and for all my girls who don’t speak English there they come to me and were able to communicate good and talk and see exactly what set there looking for.

We love surprises, fun facts and unexpected stories. Is there something you can share that might surprise us?
Something surprising about me is that I like to plan my life I want everything to go my way as I plan it. I know sometimes that isn’t possible because you never know what to expect, I now try to just go with the flow and hope and pray that what I want in life will become reality…
