Life & Work with Aurelio Jr Gonzalez of Frost

Today we’d like to introduce you to Aurelio Jr Gonzalez

Hi Aurelio Jr, please kick things off for us with an introduction to yourself and your story.
It all started when I broke my leg in Nov 2022 flying off a tee pad on the last hole of our round. Bedridden I opened up my store to sell my overstock and used discs. I then wanted to help out those who didn’t like the pressure of posting or finishing first on the team. I just wanted them to have fun and enjoy the sport while representing the team and the commodity of their teammates. We talk almost every day sharing our rounds and life. We are currently stationed in Frost, TX southwest of Corsicana, TX. We have our shop and our very own private course that is always changing and evolving! We’re always ready to help new players learn and grow!

We all face challenges, but looking back would you describe it as a relatively smooth road?
It hasn’t been an easy road—between breaking my leg and getting the shop built and finished, there were plenty of challenges. But we’re excited to say things are only looking up from here! This winter and spring, the course will be getting an amazing makeover!

Appreciate you sharing that. What else should we know about what you do?
I wouldn’t say I specialize in just one thing; I’m more of a jack-of-all-trades. I have a degree in Game Design and Programming, but so far, my projects have been more for personal enjoyment than anything else. That said, the degree hasn’t gone to waste—I’ve been working on a demo for the past four years. It’s still in the early stages, but the soundtrack, sound effects, title, and story are all complete. As for a release date… well, your guess is as good as mine! One day, though, it’ll be ready, and it’ll be glorious.

Right now, my true passion is disc golf. I’m focused on being the best ambassador for the sport that I can be.

Before we let you go, we’ve got to ask if you have any advice for those who are just starting out?
I recommend starting with a putter and a midrange disc and getting comfortable with how they feel in your hand. Practice throwing them as flat and straight as possible. Remember, it’s not about speed—slow is smooth, and smooth leads to distance.
