Conversations with Yeydiel Barroso

Today we’d like to introduce you to Yeydiel Barroso

Hi Yeydiel, so excited to have you on the platform. So before we get into questions about your work-life, maybe you can bring our readers up to speed on your story and how you got to where you are today?
I was born in Cuba in 2002 where I was raised by my single mother. I realized at a young age that I could not get where I wanted to be in my home country. So I left for a better life. I got the chance to finish school and joined the army right after I graduated.
Soon thereafter I became very interested in investing and becoming financially literate. I knew to get the knowledge that I wanted it would be best to learn hands on. So when it was time I moved on from the military I decided to enter the real estate business and give myself a fresh start in a fresh city. I’m set on living the American dream, immigrate, work smart, and live life to the fullest.

I’m sure it wasn’t obstacle-free, but would you say the journey has been fairly smooth so far?
There were a lot of struggles along the way, especially before I joined the military. When I came to this country I was struggling to keep a roof over my head, I was trying to manage school, and work, and help my mother all at the same time. I didn’t have any stability in my life until I joined the military. It was a great opportunity for me and I think back on it in a very positive light, the military had given me so much and I am grateful for my time in the service.

As you know, we’re big fans of you and your work. For our readers who might not be as familiar what can you tell them about what you do?
I am a real estate agent, I specialize in single family, multi-family, and investment property sales and purchases. I am new to the industry so I don’t have much of a reputation yet but I would love to be known for helping families achieve the American dream. I can’t say that I’m very different from other professionals in my industry, we all want to see our clients happy, we have have interest in the same things, but I have a deep rooted belief that I am more driven and capable, I believe in myself and I believe in what I do. I like to think that gives me a special edge.

Risk taking is a topic that people have widely differing views on – we’d love to hear your thoughts.
I like to considere myself a very logical person. I take calculated risks. In general risks aren’t a bad idea but I always weigh the pros and cons. I’ve always been this way.
