Today we’d like to introduce you to Jeremy Smith
Hi Jeremy, please kick things off for us with an introduction to yourself and your story.
Why I Became a Fitness Coach
Over 15 years ago, I almost lost my mom.
She was a busy professional, juggling long hours in accounting, raising four kids, and being a wife—but her health was slipping away. I watched her go from energetic and full of life to exhausted and drained every single day.
Then one day, I came home from school, and she wasn’t there.
It wasn’t until years later that I learned the truth—she was in the hospital, fighting for her life. Doctors told her, “If you don’t take action now, there will be no second chance.”
That’s when she made a choice that changed everything. She hired a fitness coach.
I watched in awe as my mom took control of her health, and it hit me—having the right guidance in fitness, nutrition, and mindset can completely transform someone’s life.
That realization lit a fire in me.
I’ve been training and coaching for over 12 years helping my clients build confidence, lose fat, tone up, and master nutrition—without giving up the things they love (yes, you can still enjoy brunch, vacations, and dates, etc.)
Because at the end of the day, this isn’t just about looking good. It’s about feeling in control of your life because you know how to navigate a lifestyle. A lot of people join programs to help them with a short term goal, so I decided to create a program that facilitates how to truly make fitness a lifestyle using my Elite 3-Pillar Framework designed to strategically get you results that last.
Would you say it’s been a smooth road, and if not what are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced along the way?
Ironically as a trainer I started really young (2012) with no guidance or experience. After getting certified I began working at a Gym which for over 2 years and ended up losing the job because I kept oversleeping.
Granted I was struggling with sleep because I took on training and front desk work at the gym to learn everything about the business. I was a father of 2 trying to make ends meet with fitness and I had no choice but to work 12-14 hour days 6 & sometimes 7 days a week. If I wasn’t at the gym I was in my books finishing my B.S. in Health Sciences at Florida A&M University. I wanted to be the best trainer/coach anyone had ever seen.
Sure I was waking up excited to train, but sometimes I was running late as a young 19 year old sometimes does. Losing my dream job at the gym kicked me into full gear to never be late again and take my clients seriously by respecting their time better. I’m grateful for the struggles I had to grow through because it built me to be the coach I am today.
Great, so let’s talk business. Can you tell our readers more about what you do and what you think sets you apart from others?
Since 2012 I’ve trained over 9,000 people or so. I’ve ALWAYS been a full-time fitness coach. It sounds like a joke, but I tell my clients “If I don’t get you results, I won’t eat!”
I have a degree in Health Sciences, I’m certified through Precision Nutrition L1 — a world leading brand on nutrition coaching, I’m certified with AAFP as a trainer since 2013, I still regularly complete CEUs through NASM and other leading brands in the industry.
I specialize in helping busy professionals 30+ who are looking to drop body fat and build a lean physique that they can keep for a lifetime through a process called “Body Recomp”. This is where I specifically design your program to melt away body fat and build muscle simultaneously.
What sets me apart from others is my energy, confidence, knowledge, and empathy. I’m not a coach who offer generic advice or motivation. I consult and regularly meet with all my clients to step into their shoes because a lot of people aren’t understood. A lot of folks in the industry will tell you the things in your life you complain about are just excuses. I teach my clients that life happening isn’t an excuse, it’s your reality. My coaching works because I am able to build out practical next steps that keep my clients going long-term.
I am most proud of the community I’ve built in Texas. I started training in Florida during and after college where I trained the first thousands of clients. As the years have gone on I’ve noticed I impacted a lot more people that I could really comprehend. I’ve been to many different cities when I travel and having people recognize you when you’re 1,000+ miles away from home is an insane feeling words can’t describe.
I contract at a new gym Iron Forge Gym which was also founded by an Austin favorite Big Tex Gym.
Here I offer small group training at 5:30am, 6:30am, & 6:30pm Monday through Thursday.

Are there any apps, books, podcasts, blogs or other resources you think our readers should check out?
My all time favorite read for myself and clients is Psycho-Cybernetics by Maxwell Maltz. This book talks a lot about self-image and is a good read because self-image issues and body dysmorphia is a real thing we don’t talk enough about when changing our lifestyles.
