Hi Devante, thanks for joining us today. We’d love for you to start by introducing yourself.
Thank you for having me on the podcast! I’m excited to share my journey with your audience. Here’s a detailed overview of how I got started and where I am today.
I started my journey in real estate while still in high school at Morton Ranch High School. I was always entrepreneurial, so I decided to dive into real estate investing early, learning about wholesaling and how the market worked. While I was attending UCLA, majoring in architectural engineering with a minor in business, I closed my first wholesale deal. It was a $60,000 profit in just two months. When I realized that $60K was essentially the same amount I’d make in a year after four years of schooling, plus the $150,000 in student debt and the long hours I would have to put in working a salary job, I decided to take a leap.
I dropped out of UCLA and threw myself into real estate full-time. I didn’t care what kind of properties I was flipping – from leisure homes to trap houses, I was just focused on making the business work. The deals were coming in, and the more I worked, the more I realized this was my true passion and calling.
In 2017, I moved back to Texas and worked in the oil fields as a mud engineer. I made $138K in my first year, and by my second year, I was bringing home around $375K after taxes. I reinvested that money into my real estate ventures, making even bigger moves. In 2019 and 2020, I closed deals worth $80K and then $200K right before my son was born.
Fast forward to 2025, and I’m now in a building phase where my goal is to hit $100M in real estate transactions for the year. My focus has shifted to hiring, mentoring, and funding – helping other investors grow their portfolios and scale their businesses just like I did. I’ve learned so much over the years and now I’m passing that knowledge on to others, helping them achieve financial independence through real estate.

Alright, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
Has it been a smooth road?
Hell no, it hasn’t been a smooth road. As you can see from the timeframes in my journey, there were definitely ups and downs. One of the biggest struggles I faced was a lack of marketing. Early on, I wasn’t thinking about long-term strategies, and I wasn’t looking at how to maintain and build upon the success I was having. I was making money fast, especially in the trap house deals, but I wasn’t thinking about sustainability.
When you’re young and exposed to opportunities that most people your age don’t get to experience, it’s easy to take things for granted. I wasn’t thinking long-term at the time. I was all about the fast money, not realizing that building a real business would require consistent, long-term effort.
Another struggle I had was not having a system in place for organization and consistency. Without a solid system, everything felt like a hustle. I was still operating solo for a long time, which meant putting in a lot of blood, sweat, and tears into each deal. As a hustler, I thought that’s just how it worked, but eventually I realized that working smarter, not harder, was key.
Now, I’m focusing on building systems to help me scale and keep things running smoothly. It’s taking time, but I’ve learned that having a clear structure is the way to go. You can hustle hard, but without the right systems and a mindset for the long-term, you’re just spinning your wheels.

What matters most to me is definitely my family. I do everything I do for them — especially my baby. He’s the driving force behind everything I’ve built and everything I continue to strive for. But I’ve had this love and passion for real estate long before my baby came into the picture. It’s always been a natural passion for me, even since I was a kid. Football was my first love, but my mom always told me, “What’s your plan B?” So, I turned to my love for real estate, design, and houses in general, and that became my plan.
I prayed about it day in and day out, cried behind it, and asked God to bless me and guide me in my journey. I wouldn’t be where I am today without my faith, without God’s guidance. Everything I’ve achieved is because of Him. So, at the core of it all, it’s my family and the ability to provide for them that truly matters. Everything I do is to ensure their future is secure, and that they have the life and opportunities they deserve.
