Hi Robin, we’d love for you to start by introducing yourself.
The wedding industry has been a passion of mine for over 20 years. I began my journey as a Floral Preservationist in 2003, opening Infinity Bouquets, a staple wedding business in Southern Ca that prospered for 13 years. In 2008 I was introduced to an exclusive Museum-Quality wedding gown preservation box from Canada and I fell in love! After joining these businesses, I realized wedding gowns were my true passion and I sold Infinity Bouquets in 2016 and opened Gown Preservation Specialists. During the years that followed, we experienced an enormous influx of business due to the high demand for a better way to store gowns. With this in mind, I opened 3 additional locations in the US in the years that followed. Idaho Gown Preservation opened in 2021, Ohio Gown Preservation in 2022 and Texas Gown Preservation in 2024. Knowing my passion for fine textiles, selling wedding gowns seemed like the next step in my journey. After selling my CA location, I packed up and moved my family to North Austin. But I didn’t come empty handed. I transferred 250 sample gowns from a colleagues boutique in CA and opened Judith K Bridal. My passion was to be different and unique without compromising quality and experience. Our location is a hidden gem in the area, tucked behind metal roll up doors in a swanky building called XSpace. Our brides and their guests enjoy a private gown experience. And the best part is our gowns are priced to sell. Judith K Bridal and Texas Gown Preservation may be new to Texas but our history and knowledge have successfully welcomed us!
Alright, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
It hasn’t been easy, but it has been extremely rewarding! I see a trend in my last 20 years of starting businesses from the ground up, nurturing them, and then selling them. It’s a rollercoaster and not for everyone. It comes with scary moments of uncertainty. However, it is rewarding to help so many people find happiness on their special day and after.
One of the biggest hurdles for me is Social Media. As I get older the trends are changing and I find myself unable to keep up. Hiring a specialist has been the best decision I have made. It has given us the ability to connect with brides in need and to also educate them on their options!
As you know, we’re big fans of you and your work. For our readers who might not be as familiar what can you tell them about what you do?
At Judith K Bridal, we strive to give every bride the most memorable experience as we possibly can! Our goal is to see every bride leave us with their dream dress but we also know sometimes it is difficult for brides to make a decision. Having patience and grace allows us to be a special part of the searching process without being pushy. We want our brides to leave feeling that their experience was by far the best they’ve had so far. We are known for educating brides about tailoring services and preservation, 2 details every bride must be informed about. We are most proud of our commitment to being a 5-star business in every sense.
How do you think about happiness?
My family. They always come first. My oldest son is 21 years old and lives in CA where he is studying and working full time. He’s a brilliant soul and one of the nicest young men you’ll ever meet! My daughter is 16 and lives with me in Texas. She’s a firecracker and a talented young lady. Traveling with them is one of my favorite things to do. Road trips, out of state adventures, or dreaming of new ones. I hope these 2 never get tired of Mom! Because they are my world.
