Rising Stars: Meet Aime Brunn of North Austin

Today we’d like to introduce you to Aime Brunn

Hi Aime, thanks for joining us today. We’d love for you to start by introducing yourself.
I visited my friend Ty Gibson for SXSW and liked the city. Since the city was big for music I figured it would be a good place to be since I had been laid off from my job at NPR. Before I moved to Austin, I was a broadcast recording tech for NPR after finishing school for Audio engineering in Rockville, MD. I brought my audio engineering and production skills to Austin and was able to make a way.

Can you talk to us a bit about the challenges and lessons you’ve learned along the way. Looking back would you say it’s been easy or smooth in retrospect?
No..,, broke up with a fiance i came out here with. took years to build enough clientele to be full-time. Got an artist a record deal and he decided to walk away from music due to family issues and the realization that the music business wasn’t what you see on tv in my opinion..

Thanks for sharing that. So, maybe next you can tell us a bit more about your work?
Im mainly an engineer. Im mostly known for engineering but im really a producer since im the one putting records together with artists..Most proud of the Die Ruich project with G Jet, Im produced most of it..I engineered all of it…What sets me apart is my ear and and marketing abilities,

Where we are in life is often partly because of others. Who/what else deserves credit for how your story turned out?
Ty Gibson for helping me get established in Austin. George Jefferson and Camille jefferson who helped me get a job at NPR …Ray Harry ..my band director from high school and of course my guardian/aunt Pat Allen.
