Meet Vasavi Kumar of Austin, TX

Today we’d like to introduce you to Vasavi Kumar

Hi Vasavi, thanks for joining us today. We’d love for you to start by introducing yourself.
As a first-generation Indian American, I grew up feeling the weight of cultural expectations while also navigating my own inner world as someone living with bipolar disorder. Even after earning my master’s in social work and building a career as a therapist, I struggled with my own visibility. I felt like I had to constantly shape-shift to fit in.

Everything changed when I realized that true confidence comes from speaking out loud, literally. Through mirror work, self-talk techniques, and getting on camera, I found my voice. And in doing so, I helped others find theirs. My book, Say It Out Loud, became a guide for those who wanted to break free from self-doubt and speak their truth unapologetically.

Now, as a visibility and self-expression coach, podcast host, and speaker, I teach business owners, coaches, and creatives how to show up with confidence, both in their business and in their everyday lives. Whether it’s through my Say It Out Loud group program, my masterclasses for neurodivergent entrepreneurs, or my on-camera training visibility reset, my mission is clear: to help people stop hiding, embrace their energy, and be fully seen and heard.

My path hasn’t been linear, I’ve had to navigate my own struggles, including living with bipolar disorder and ADHD, redefining rest as an act of self-love, and learning to harness my neurodivergent creativity. But through it all, I’ve remained committed to one thing: being visible. And now, I help others do the same.

Would you say it’s been a smooth road, and if not what are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced along the way?
It definitely hasn’t been a smooth road. My journey has been filled with challenges both internal and external, and every struggle has shaped the work I do today.

Living with bipolar disorder has been one of the biggest parts of my journey. There have been times when my energy felt unstoppable, and other times when I struggled just to show up. Learning to work with my neurodivergence instead of against it has been a huge lesson, one that I now teach others.

Another major challenge was my relationship with visibility. Even as a therapist and coach, I used to battle intense self-doubt, overanalyzing every word I said and worrying about how I was perceived. I spent years trying to fit into boxes that weren’t meant for me, and that exhaustion led to burnout more than once.

I’ve also had my fair share of personal struggles, navigating financial highs and lows, and learning to rest without guilt. There were moments when I questioned whether I was capable of sustaining my business and my impact. But through it all, I kept coming back to my voice, my message, and the belief that I was meant to be seen and heard.

The road hasn’t been smooth, but I wouldn’t change it. Every struggle has given me the tools to help others, because I don’t just teach self-expression and visibility, I live it. And if I can navigate all of this and still show up, so can the people I work with.

Thanks for sharing that. So, maybe next you can tell us a bit more about your business?
My work is all about helping people stop hiding and start fully expressing themselves, whether that’s on camera, in their business, or in their everyday lives. I specialize in visibility, confidence, and self-expression, particularly for business owners, coaches, creatives, and neurodivergent entrepreneurs who struggle with being seen and heard.

I’m known for my ability to help people get out of their own heads and into action. I take what feels overwhelming—speaking on camera, sharing personal stories, or showing up online, and break it down in a way that feels natural and doable. My approach is a mix of mindset, strategy, and embodiment, blending self-talk techniques, mirror work, and on-camera training to help people not just look confident, but feel it.

What I’m most proud of is that I don’t just teach visibility, I live it. I’ve had to work through my own fears, self-doubt, and mental health challenges to show up consistently, and I know firsthand what it’s like to struggle with expression. I also know what it takes to break through those barriers, and that’s why my work is so powerful.

What sets me apart is my raw honesty and my ability to make people feel safe while pushing them to grow. I don’t believe in surface-level confidence; I help people transform from the inside out. I also bring a unique perspective as someone who has been in the therapy world but understands the power of personal branding, business visibility, and the creative energy that neurodivergent entrepreneurs bring to the table.

At the core of everything I do is a simple message: Your voice matters. And I’m here to help you use it.

What matters most to you? Why?
What matters most to me is radical self-expression, helping people speak their truth, be fully seen, and stop hiding from themselves and the world.

Why? Because I know what it feels like to silence myself, to shrink, to doubt whether my voice even matters. I’ve lived through the fear of being too much, too different, or not good enough. I’ve battled with self-judgment, cultural expectations, and mental health struggles that made me question my worth. And I’ve also experienced the freedom that comes from owning all of who I am, out loud, unapologetically.

I believe self-expression isn’t just about being on camera or sharing your voice, it’s about living in full alignment with who you are. When you express yourself fully, you attract the right opportunities, relationships, and experiences. You break free from perfectionism, overthinking, and self-doubt. You create a life and business that actually feels good instead of just looking good from the outside.

This matters to me because I’ve seen how many people, especially business owners, creatives, and neurodivergent entrepreneurs, hold themselves back, waiting for the “right” moment, the “perfect” words, or the feeling of being “ready.” I don’t want anyone to go through life muted, disconnected from their own voice. I want them to feel the power of speaking out loud, of showing up fully, and of being witnessed for who they truly are.

That’s why I do what I do. Because everyone deserves to take up space, and I won’t stop until more people believe that for themselves.
