Today we’d like to introduce you to Buddy Pajak
Hi Buddy, so excited to have you on the platform. So before we get into questions about your work-life, maybe you can bring our readers up to speed on your story and how you got to where you are today?
Growing up, I always enjoyed drawing comic book characters with friends however I didn’t start painting until college. I eventually received my studio art degree from Texas State and just continued creating work whenever I could. After a few small art shows I got asked to do my first mural for a little retirement community and realized I really enjoyed the process of large scale media.
I’m sure it wasn’t obstacle-free, but would you say the journey has been fairly smooth so far?
Well, I’d say there is very few smooth roads when it comes to creating yourself into a professional artist. Financial struggles always seem to be the first hurdles to get through while you begin to establish yourself. Trying to balance multiple income streams while also finding time to create work is a tricky balance. But I just stuck with it and never really gave myself a plan b.
Thanks – so what else should our readers know about your work and what you’re currently focused on?
Lately I’d say I’m most know for my murals and large scale paintings for businesses. I tend to lean on an illustrative style with colorful, almost cyberpunk elements. I think what makes my work stand out is the variety of mediums I can use to get the job done, oil paint, acrylic, spray can allow me to work in a variety of locations from inside a pristine business environment to outdoor brick on the side of a 3 story building.
Are there any apps, books, podcasts, blogs or other resources you think our readers should check out?
Well I tend to listen to paranormal or alien podcasts while working. I guess it keeps me in an open minded state. I enjoy the feeling of letting imagination and imagery take over my thoughts while working
