Hi Matt , it’s an honor to have you on the platform. Thanks for taking the time to share your story with us – to start maybe you can share some of your backstory with our readers?
MoosePacks is a U.S.-based company specializing in high-quality, handmade bicycle bags designed for everyday adventures. Founded in 2015 by Matt Moosa in the heart of the Pisgah National Forest in North Carolina, the company began as a passion project. Matt spent his time testing his skills by developing a range of products, which ultimately led to the creation of MoosePacks, the premium brand we know today.
What started as a small operation grew steadily, with bags being shipped globally thanks to the support of close friends and family. In 2020, MoosePacks took significant steps forward by partnering with U.S. manufacturers to meet the growing demand for our products, as we could no longer keep up with production in-house.
At MoosePacks, we are committed to environmental sustainability. We prioritize sourcing materials that are BlueSign approved and work with textile manufacturers who produce recycled materials. Additionally, we are dedicated to supporting the community by donating a portion of our annual sales to non-profits focused on environmental conservation and outdoor exploration.
Our product lineup includes bike bags, travel gear, and a selection of limited custom options. We take pride in offering top-notch customer service, ensuring that every interaction with our brand is a positive experience.
Would you say it’s been a smooth road, and if not what are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced along the way?
Running a small business is a dynamic and often unpredictable journey, filled with both challenges and opportunities. Our company is founded on a strong commitment to adapt and grow in response to demand. During times of difficulty, we scale back strategically, and when progress is steady, we embrace the momentum and continue pushing forward. With a clear mission and a team of exceptional individuals, we have the ability to navigate the ever-changing landscape and shape our path toward success.
Being a very small brand, brand recognition can be a hard thing to obtain. We appreciate the opportunity for our voice to be heard through Voyage Austin.
We’ve been impressed with MoosePacks, LLC, but for folks who might not be as familiar, what can you share with them about what you do and what sets you apart from others?
Our business is primarily online based. We do not have a physical location at this time. The best way to find our products I through our website, local bike shops and gravel cycling events. I (Matt) am the sole founder of the company. I have a high knit group of friends and family members that help with various rolls within, from sales strategies to product testing. We are known for our durability, functionality, style and most importantly our customer service is dialed!
