Hi Honey, can you start by introducing yourself? We’d love to learn more about how you got to where you are today?
I’ve always been drawn to beauty and skincare, even as a kid, but I never imagined it would turn into a career. In middle school, I was experimenting with homemade skincare, but it wasn’t until I came across an esthetics school ad that I realized I could turn my passion into something real. After seeing that ad, I enrolled at Avenue Five Institute and studied Esthetics. From that moment, I was all in.
I started my journey working at a corporate waxing chain, but after being let go, I saw it as an opportunity rather than a setback. I took a risk and opened my own studio, even though I had no experience running a business. It was tough, but I trusted myself, kept learning, and built something that wasn’t just about services–it was about confidence, connection, and care.
Now, I’ve created a space where people feel valued, where they leave not just looking good but feeling empowered. Being a single mom and an entrepreneur is a balancing act, but it’s also proof that you can create the life you want with dedication and belief in yourself. My journey is still unfolding, and I’m excited for what’s next! 💗
Would you say it’s been a smooth road, and if not what are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced along the way?
It definitely hasn’t been a smooth road, but every challenge has shaped me into the business owner I am today. One of the biggest struggles was starting my business with zero clientele and no experience in running a business. I knew how to provide great services, but learning the business side, marketing, finances, client retention was a whole new world. It was a lot of trial and error, but I stayed committed, kept learning, and figured it out along the way.
Another challenge has been balancing everything. Being an esthetician, a business owner, and a single mom means I wear a lot of hats, and some days, it feels like there aren’t enough hours to do it all. But I’ve learned the importance of setting boundaries, staying organized, and taking time for myself so I don’t burn out.
The road hasn’t been easy, but I wouldn’t change a thing. Every obstacle has pushed me to grow, adapt, and build something that truly reflects my passion. At the end of the day, seeing my clients leave feeling confident makes every challenge worth it.

I started HoneyBe Gorgeous six years ago with a vision to empower women through beauty and self-care. At HoneyBe Gorgeous Wax Studio, we offer full-body waxing with a special focus on Brazilian waxes and Vajacials, which have truly become my signature here in Austin. With 10 years of experience as an esthetician, I’ve also expanded my offerings to include body treatments like back facials, butt facials, and comprehensive skincare services.
What really sets HoneyBe Gorgeous apart is the personal touch I bring to every appointment. I’m known for my technique, attention to detail, and the warm, friendly vibe that makes every visit feel like catching up with a friend. I never rush through a session because I believe in creating an experience that’s both effective and nurturing.
At the heart of my brand is a vibrant community where women feel seen, supported, and celebrated in their own skin. HoneyBe Gorgeous isn’t just about waxing, it’s a safe space for connection, empowerment, and genuine self-care.
Can you talk to us a bit about the role of luck?
Luck has definitely played a role in my journey. I’ve had moments where I was just in the right place at the right time, meeting great mentors, clients, and stumbling on opportunities that really helped my business grow. But at the end of the day, it’s all about the hard work I’ve put in. I’ve pushed myself out of my comfort zone to get my name out there, and even when things didn’t go my way, those challenges taught me to be resourceful and creative.
I choose to focus on the positive, embracing every twist of fate as a stepping stone, and I’m always grateful for the unexpected blessings along the way.
