Daily Inspiration: Meet Malcomb Holden

Today we’d like to introduce you to Malcomb Holden

Hi Malcomb, so excited to have you with us today. What can you tell us about your story?
This all started from a personal need—a desire to create a space where I could freely express myself, share my story, and truly be heard. As a musician, I’ve played at events where I felt like nothing more than background noise, and I knew other artists felt the same. I wanted to build something different—an experience where musicians are fully received, where people aren’t just watching but deeply connecting.

But it’s not just about the music. It’s about people—about creating a space where we can be truly seen, heard, and witnessed in our most authentic selves. What started as something for me quickly became something for the community. The love and support I’ve received showed me that this is bigger than just an event—it’s a movement. It’s proof that people are craving genuine connection, raw expression, and spaces that feel like home.

That’s how I got here—by listening, growing, and realizing that what I was creating wasn’t just mine. It belonged to everyone who needed it.

Can you talk to us a bit about the challenges and lessons you’ve learned along the way. Looking back would you say it’s been easy or smooth in retrospect?
It definitely hasn’t been a smooth road—especially as things started to pick up. One of my biggest struggles has been trusting others to execute my vision in a way that aligns with how I manage events. Delegating tasks wasn’t easy because I had a hard time trusting people to get the job done at the level I expected.

I had to learn to let go and recognize that everyone has their own strengths and unique approach—some similar to mine, others completely different. Embracing that difference has been a journey, but it’s also what has allowed me to grow, collaborate, and build something bigger than myself.

Appreciate you sharing that. What else should we know about what you do?
My background is rooted in hands-on labor and craftsmanship, from construction and handyman work to landscaping and event production—including music events and weddings. I’ve dedicated countless hours to mastering these trades, but what I’m most known for is bringing people together in a way that feels like home.

Beyond the work itself, I’m someone who’s always juggling multiple roles, constantly creating, and building both spaces and experiences that foster connection and community.

Networking and finding a mentor can have such a positive impact on one’s life and career. Any advice?
What has worked best for me is simply asking for what I want and sharing my goals openly with potential mentors. I’ve reached out to people who are local and already established in the field I want to grow in, and sometimes, mentors have even approached me—recognizing my efforts and offering their support, whether through knowledge, guidance, or opportunities to work with them.

A big part of this process has been showing up, following through, and being willing to ask for support. People notice how you carry yourself in the community, and often, they’re more willing to help than we assume. I’ve learned that the biggest barrier isn’t always access—it’s the story we tell ourselves about being rejected before we even try.

What has surprised me the most is how generous and eager mentors are to share their wisdom when they see genuine passion, commitment, and a willingness to learn.
