Today we’d like to introduce you to Catalina Rozo
Hi Catalina, thanks for sharing your story with us. To start, maybe you can tell our readers some of your backstory.
Ten years ago, while living in NYC, I was constantly battling low energy and relentless brain fog. No matter how much coffee, matcha, or pre-workout I consumed, nothing truly worked. I felt like I was running on empty—unable to be fully present, struggling at work, and feeling disconnected from my relationships and daily life. The frustration of not being able to perform at my best left me feeling stuck and even depressed.
Desperate for answers, I decided to seek help. But this time, I wanted two perspectives—one from Conventional Medicine and one from Functional Medicine.
Lab tests revealed something shocking: my liver was in terrible shape. I was completely caught off guard. I had always considered myself healthy—I worked out 4–5 times a week, ate clean, and barely drank alcohol. How could this be?
The conventional doctor’s solution? A harsh treatment that would leave me bedridden for six months. That wasn’t an option for me. Instead, I turned to the Functional Medicine approach—and it changed my life.
Through a targeted protocol—cleaning up my diet, addressing my gut health, and taking the right supplements—I saw a dramatic shift. In just three months, my liver enzymes normalized, my energy skyrocketed, and my mental clarity returned. I finally felt like me again.
That was my AHA moment. I realized that true healing isn’t about masking symptoms but getting to the root cause. It was so powerful that I knew I had to dedicate my life to this work. Today, as a Functional Practitioner, I’ve had the privilege of guiding hundreds of people to reclaim their energy, restore their gut health, rebalance their hormones, and finally break free from fatigue, brain fog, and other chronic symptoms—helping them experience a level of vitality they never thought possible.
Can you talk to us a bit about the challenges and lessons you’ve learned along the way. Looking back would you say it’s been easy or smooth in retrospect?
The road to where I am today has been anything but smooth—but that’s exactly what has shaped me into the practitioner I am now.
When I first started experiencing chronic fatigue, brain fog, and hormonal imbalances, I felt frustrated and lost. I was doing everything I thought was ‘healthy’—working out, eating clean, and staying active—yet my body was struggling. The biggest challenge was not just the symptoms but the emotional toll of feeling like I was failing despite my best efforts.
Then came the struggle of navigating the healthcare system. When I was diagnosed with liver dysfunction, the conventional approach offered me a harsh treatment that would leave me bedridden for six months. That moment forced me to take control of my own health and seek an alternative path. Functional Medicine gave me the answers I had been searching for, but even then, the healing process wasn’t overnight. It required dedication, drastic lifestyle changes, and a deep understanding of how my body truly worked.
Starting my practice also came with its own set of challenges. Many people are still unfamiliar with Functional Medicine, and shifting the mindset from symptom-chasing to root-cause healing takes education and trust. I’ve had to break through skepticism, stay committed to my mission, and constantly expand my knowledge to better serve my clients.
But through all these struggles, I’ve learned resilience, patience, and the power of listening to the body. Every challenge I faced has given me the tools to help others avoid the same struggles, and that’s what makes this journey so rewarding.
Thanks for sharing that. So, maybe next you can tell us a bit more about your business?
At my virtual Functional Medicine practice, I help high-achievers—entrepreneurs, CEOs, and busy professionals—finally break free from chronic health struggles like bloating, acid reflux, constipation, low energy, brain fog, and hormonal imbalances.
My approach isn’t about just managing symptoms. I connect the dots that other doctors and practitioners have missed, getting to the root cause and helping the body heal naturally through science-backed, evidence-based tools.
What sets my practice apart is that I work with clients as whole beings. I don’t believe in quick fixes or one-size-fits-all approaches. Instead, I focus on gut health, metabolic health, and hormonal balance—because when these three areas are optimized, everything else falls into place.
With clients across the U.S. in major cities like Austin, Miami, New York, and LA, as well as internationally, I’ve had the privilege of working with some of the most influential entrepreneurs and thought leaders—people who are not only excelling in their fields but also understand that their greatest asset is their health.
I’ve been fortunate to work with some of the most well-known entrepreneurs and leaders, including:
• Ann McFerran, Founder & CEO of Glamnetic, featured in Forbes 30 Under 30
• Vanessa Lau, YouTube entrepreneur with 919K subscribers & Founder of Superboba
• Billy Bosch, Founder of Drink Iconic & Get Youth RX
• Haddasa Bogo-Manela & Shimmy Manela, Founders of Bonei Olam Florida & Knockout.Miami, who are making a huge impact in the Jewish community around infertility
These are visionaries who understand that health is the foundation of success—and I help them optimize their well-being so they can show up fully in their businesses and lives.
The Epigenetic Reset Program: A Proven 5-Step Healing System
One of the most powerful offerings in my practice is the Epigenetic Reset Program, a 4-month roadmap designed to take people from feeling stuck and exhausted to gaining full control over their health.
Epigenetic s the study of how your behaviors and both internal and external environments can cause changes that affect how your genes are expressed or how they function.
This program is for people who have tried everything—diets, treatments, medications—but still don’t feel better. It’s for those who are tired of feeling bloated after every meal, struggling with low energy, and feeling like their body is working against them.
In this program, we take a deep dive into your health using:
• Advanced specialized lab testing to uncover hidden imbalances
• A comprehensive lab analysis to create a healing plan tailored to your body
• A science-backed healing protocol designed to reset and optimize your health
• One-on-one support to guide you every step of the way
The transformations I’ve seen through this program are incredible. Clients finally regain their energy, eat without discomfort, lose weight effortlessly (without crazy diets), and experience mental clarity like never before.
This isn’t about masking symptoms—it’s about healing at the root level so you can feel vibrant, clear-headed, and in control of your body again.
If this speaks to you, I created a FREE guide where you can learn more about how the Epigenetic Reset Program works. You can download it [here].
At the end of the day, my mission is to help people take back control of their own health so they can thrive—not just survive. Because when your body is functioning at its best, everything in life improves—your energy, your confidence, your relationships, and even your success.
What do you like and dislike about the city?
One of the things I love most about Austin is how it’s truly a hub for health and wellness. It’s the perfect city for people like me who value a lifestyle that supports feeling good from the inside out. Whether it’s farm-to-table restaurants, holistic health options, or an active outdoor scene, Austin makes it easy to live well and thrive.
One of my favorite things to do here is exploring the hiking trails and scenic walks—there’s something magical about being surrounded by nature while also crossing paths with like-minded people who share the same passion for wellness.
In my opinion, Austin has some of the best restaurants! From gourmet dining to healthy grab-and-go spots, the options are incredible. Some of my favorites are Este, The Well, Swedish Hill, Proud Mary, Honest Mary’s, and ATX Cocina—all places that make eating healthy delicious and exciting.
If I had to pick one thing I like least about Austin? The summer heat!
