Exploring Life & Business with Hannahstarr Kann of Texana Wellness Juicery

Today we’d like to introduce you to Hannahstarr Kann

Hi HannahStarr, can you start by introducing yourself? We’d love to learn more about how you got to where you are today?
Born in Austin and mostly raised in Horseshoe Bay, I went to college on a tennis scholarship and was struck with an aggressive and undiagnosed autoimmune disease the end of my freshman year. I took a year off to heal, rest and was on trial drugs including an oral chemo and numerous steroids. When my health was somewhat managed, I jumped right back into school at Belmont University, chasing a career in vocal performance – despite loosing over 50 pounds and still loosing unexplainably. A month after fall semester started I was hospitalized and rushed into an emergency surgery where much intestine was removed, but my Crohn’s was finally diagnosed and the surgery saved my life.

As I recovered and stayed in school, I found the true power in Whole Foods, balanced clean nutrition lifestyle and an active lifestyle outside of sports. I then became pregnant the summer before my senior year as a performing country artist on Broadway in Nashville, TN. As a driven soon to be single mom I decided to take my spring semester off to have my daughter, and came right back more driven than ever. My daughter went to classes with me as I added a double major in athletic training to learn more about movement and nutrition. I interned with the Belmont University Athletics and was honored to be elected by staff and professors as one of three students to work the NCAA Women’s Final Four as a Host City- Athletic Trainer Intern in 2014 my final semester. That was it. I was hooked on the potential of the human body and what it truly needed to perform at a high caliber, what environment was needed to help it heal and succeed at a high level.

I graduated and moved back to Texas to start my career in Strength and Conditioning. I worked as an independent fitness and nutrition coach. As well as a experience as an assistant tennis pro, a yoga manager – after completing my intense month long submersion in “Yoga Teacher Training” earning my RYT and starting to practice Ayurvedic medicine and healing with herbs, foods and movement. I then went on to be come a wellness spa director in the Hill Country still helping others heal with nutrition and movement until I was found by LifeTime Athletic and started working as a department Head for them and participated in a Club Grand Opening in Baybrook, Tx and helped at various other Grand Openings for LifeTime. In Houston I found the love of my life and we moved to Las Vegas for him to work on his project, building the Raider’s Stadium as I earned a Master’s in Kinesiology and Nutrition online from Hardin Simmons University. I focused on my online wellness, nutrition and strength and conditioning coaching when in Vegas as well as becoming an EMT on the strip to learn more and gain more experience in the health and wellness field. As we traveled the west coast with my husband’s projects I grew my practice and we started a family of now 5, two girls and a boy (11, 4 and 3).

This past year we permanently relocated to the Austin area and live in Horseshoe Bay to open the first of many- “Texana Wellness Juicery” 100% Organic Cold Pressed Juice + Healthy High Protein Bites. Since opening I have started online monthly memberships for people all over the country to have affordable nutrition and fitness coaching, stay accountable, learn more about a balanced lifestyle, and feel more confident and strong again in their life! The juicery has truly been the biggest blessing of a platform to share the knowledge and power in the whole foods and natural organic foods that had saved my life after almost dying and kept my autoimmune at bay the past 11+ years.

I love coaching others – helping to balance and create peace in their life through movement and nutrition of a balanced life style mind, body and spirit.

We all face challenges, but looking back would you describe it as a relatively smooth road?
My auto immune and becoming a single mom young. Then with my husband’s traveling job finding a way to chase my passion in the online space. Two surprise covid babies during my last semester of my master’s degree.

As you know, we’re big fans of Texana Wellness Juicery. For our readers who might not be as familiar what can you tell them about the brand?
We are an Organic Cold Pressed Juice company offering rotating grab-and-go high protein quiche and salads. We make nutrition on the go and every day easy. We offer affordable weekly standing orders and 3-5 day juice cleanses. We offer 6 beneficial juiced for various nutrition make up and taste preferences.

To support the communities goals and wellness journey – and those not ready to invest or jump into 1:1 coaching with me- we just launched our $29 monthly online fitness + nutrition membership with a program for men looking to shred fat and get ripped, as well as a strength and conditioning program for women looking to look toned and feel sexy at any age. Programs are offered for either the home workout or gym go-er. The app makes it super simple to track your foods and heal any negative relation ship with food, finding the nutrition and healing in what we eat and not as “good and bad” foods. It is truly a life changer for those looking to support healing their body, and make simple lifestyle changes to hit atheistic goals.

What were you like growing up?
I grew up in a very traditional Texas Christian home FULL of love for my immediate and extended family. I played sports, my dad was a football coach, my mom an artist and homemaker. Family farming, ranching, hard work, community, big family reunions, meals pot lucks for every occasion, and Jesus was very much a part of my family roots. Think – My Big Fat Greek Wedding but “Texas Ranch Edition,” that was us! I had one sister and too many first and second cousins to count. My grandparents and great grand parents on both sides were very much a part of my life all the way through High School, and I still have two grand mothers living I see on a weekly basis. My fist job was for a lawn care company in High School because I thought getting to tan and exercise while I listen to my iPod shuffle was just the coolest thing ever! I have always loved to work hard, problem solve and have always kept a positive outlook and joy – I remind myself someone is always having a harder day than I am. In high school I was cheer captain and tennis captain – I was the one everyone knew but was never in the popular group. I valued the underdog and seemed the ones that hung out alone or looked like they needed a friend. I have never been very mainstream, which now is an asset, but was hard growing up. I am very much an 8 enneagram and would fight for the few close to me or my dreams or passions any day.
