Hi Chanel, it’s an honor to have you on the platform. Thanks for taking the time to share your story with us – to start maybe you can share some of your backstory with our readers?
Creative Kids Dept. as born from a passion for creativity and a place where inspiration meets style and community.

As a graphic designer and entrepreneur, I wanted to build something that not only reflected my love for art and storytelling but also inspired the next generation. That’s how Creative Kids Dept. was born—a brand dedicated to empowering people to express themselves in unique ways, the goal is to create a space that inspires confidence and nurtures creativity.

Now, I’m focused on expanding Creative Kids Dept. by participating in markets, collaborating with young artists, and finding new ways to inspire the next generation to embrace their creativity. It’s been an incredible journey so far, and I’m excited for what’s next!

Can you talk to us a bit about the challenges and lessons you’ve learned along the way. Looking back would you say it’s been easy or smooth in retrospect?
One of the biggest struggles has been balancing everything—being a mother, working full-time, and growing Creative Kids Dept. at the same time. Time management is a constant challenge, and there have been moments when I’ve felt stretched thin, but I believe every challenge has helped shape my journey.

Another challenge has been navigating the business side of things. From legally registering my brand to figuring out the best way to market my products, there’s been a lot of learning along the way. I’ve had to research, network, and sometimes learn through trial and error. Funding and resources have also been hurdles, especially as a small business trying to establish itself in a competitive market.

Building an audience and customer base has taken patience. Social media algorithms change, engagement fluctuates, and it takes consistency to keep growing. But despite the struggles, I’ve stayed committed to my vision. Creatives resonate with my brand and its message makes every challenge worth it. The road hasn’t been smooth, but it’s been rewarding, and I’m grateful for every step of the journey.

Creative Kids Dept. is more than just a clothing brand—it’s a movement designed to encourage creativity, confidence, and self-expression in youth and adults. We specialize in unique, artistic apparel and accessories that inspire people to embrace their individuality. Our products, from t-shirts, stickers, handmade tote bags, and apparel, feature bold designs and motivational messages that speak to dreamers, thinkers, and creators. We were all creative kids at one point, so I want to bring that feeling back to adults as well.

What sets Creative Kids Dept. apart is our focus on merging creativity with fashion in a way that empowers people. We’re not just selling products; we’re creating a space where creative minds feel seen, valued, and encouraged to explore their artistic sides. We also collaborate with young artists, showcasing their work and giving them a platform to share their talent with the world.

One of the things I’m most proud of is the positive impact Creative Kids Dept. is making. Recently, I’ve been focused on expanding the brand by participating in community markets, connecting with local creatives, and growing our online presence.
