Today we’d like to introduce you to Gerad Floyd
Hi Gerad, we’d love for you to start by introducing yourself.
I graduated with a Bachelor of Arts in Design Tech, specializing in theatrical stage management and directing. My career in the event industry began nearly a decade ago when I moved to Austin and interned with one of the industry’s most reputable planners, who has nearly 30 years of experience. Over the past 9+ years, I gained hands-on expertise working directly with this planner’s team and advanced through roles including day-of assistant, lead coordinator, and full planner, before launching my own business 3.5 years ago.
Can you talk to us a bit about the challenges and lessons you’ve learned along the way. Looking back would you say it’s been easy or smooth in retrospect?
Wedding coordination is definitely not for the faint of heart! I’ve had several learning opportunities along the way which have allowed for growth. In particular, the last few years has seen the event industry navigate the pandemic and also go through a rebuilding process which has been an interesting challenge to say the least.
Can you tell our readers more about what you do and what you think sets you apart from others?
I launched my business in November 2021 with one goal: to to ensure all my clients have a fun, luxurious planning experience and a worry-free wedding day! Whether they already started planning or recently decided to enlist some backup, I step in to meet them wherever they are in the process to offer guidance and leadership. I pride myself in my personable approach to planning.
