Today we’d like to introduce you to Rich Wit A Blikk.
Hi Rich, so excited to have you with us today. What can you tell us about your story?
Born in Decatur, GA, and raised all over Austin, I’ve seen the city from every angle—starting on the Southside and making my way up North.
Every neighborhood, every block added something to my story, shaping the way I see the world and the way I make music. My sound is a reflection of that journey—raw, real, and always evolving.
I never set out to be a music artist—I wanted to be behind the camera, capturing stories, not telling my own. But life has a way of flipping the script. Being colorblind, I’ve always seen the world differently, not in the way most people do, but in contrasts, in light and shadow, in feeling more than just color.
That perspective shaped how I hear music. I don’t chase trends or try to fit a mold—I focus on the vibe, the emotion, the way a song can make you see something without needing a single visual. What started as me just playing around with sounds turned into something real, something people connected with.
Over the years, I’ve poured my experiences and emotions into my music, striving to create tracks that resonate with listeners on a personal level. Songs like “I Need White Walls” reflect my dedication to authenticity and my desire to share my narrative through compelling melodies and verses.
I’m focused on consistently releasing new music, aiming to drop three singles a month. This commitment allows me to I think connect with my audience regularly, sharing pieces of my journey.
We all face challenges, but looking back would you describe it as a relatively smooth road?
Nothing about this journey has been easy. Being an artist means constantly walking a tightrope between making money to survive and chasing the passion that keeps you alive. There have been times when I had to decide between paying bills and investing in my craft, between taking a steady check or betting on myself with nothing guaranteed.
The sacrifices are real—late nights in the studio, stretching every dollar, working jobs that drain you just to fund a dream that might not pay off right away. It’s a cycle that tests you, makes you question if it’s worth it. But no matter how hard it’s been, I never let the struggle silence me. The music is too real, too much a part of me to let it go.
Every verse, every track is built on those choices, on the grind it took to get here. I didn’t have a safety net—just a vision, a work ethic, and the belief that I could turn this into something real. And I’m still here, still pushing, because the story isn’t finished yet.
As you know, we’re big fans of you and your work. For our readers who might not be as familiar what can you tell them about what you do?
I’m a full-time creative, making a living through photography, videography, and social media management. Every day is a balancing act—using my skills behind the lens to fund my passion for music. It’s not just about making art; it’s about making it sustainable.
Juggling client work with my own projects means long hours, constant hustle, and finding ways to stay creative even when the business side tries to drain you. But every shoot, every edit, every strategy I build is another step toward full independence—where I don’t have to choose between paying the bills and making the music I love.
It’s not easy, but it’s worth it. I’m building something that lasts, something that’s mine.
Is there any advice you’d like to share with our readers who might just be starting out?
If you’re just starting out, understand this: chasing your dreams isn’t always a straight path. Do what you love, and surround yourself with people who push you forward—but also know that not everyone is meant to walk the whole journey with you. People change, paths diverge, and that’s okay.
Don’t waste energy resenting those who no longer align with your vision. Instead, be grateful for the role they played in your story, learn from the experience, and keep moving. The real challenge isn’t just talent—it’s endurance. Stay locked in, stay true to yourself, and put in the work.
Your goals won’t chase you back. Go get them. Live the life you want with my no regrets but with in the respect for others.
