Today we’d like to introduce you to Edgar Rodriguez.
Hi Edgar, can you start by introducing yourself? We’d love to learn more about how you got to where you are today?
I always had a passion for music and photography. I’ve always been interested in photography but never combined my love for both photography and music . I have always enjoyed going to live music events from up and coming artists to main stream artists. I started combining my passion for photography and music going on a year or so . and it’s been a blast from trying to capture especial moments. There’s a lot of up and coming bands that people need to discover and hopefully by capturing those moments and letting the artists share that with there fans. and or some one that gets drawn in by a photograph. its pretty especial .
Can you talk to us a bit about the challenges and lessons you’ve learned along the way. Looking back would you say it’s been easy or smooth in retrospect?
Like everything in life. everything has its struggles low points and high points. starting out and now I’m still trying to grasp on balancing my main job. And this new venture and I’m currently proceeding trying to get a website and portfolio going has been a small struggle .I”m a pretty introverted person so a big struggle for me is reaching out and creating new contacts . But with the support of other photographers I have met I have and will continue to try and contribute to the local music scene in Austin.

my main job occupation is being an automotive technician, I enjoyed being around the car scene since I was young. my other job if you can call it that is being a concert photographer.i try to specialize in capturing the special moments when the artist is on the stage .My goal is always to make the artist look and feel bigger than real life . I’m most proud of the moments when artists look and my work and I get the nod or the appreciation of capturing that moment in time of there especial moment in time.
What were you like growing up?
very blessed I have an amazing family two brothers and one sister and the best mom and dad. that has always been there through highs and lows. moved to the USA when I was very young around the age of 8 from a small town in zacatecas mx. personality wise I’m a pretty introverted person so I tend to keep my circle pretty small . I’m also a very loyal person to my close friends and family. I’ve always had an interest in music from Los Bukis to Rammstein . I my love for photography started when I was in high school. I’ve fought through some battles with depression that took me away from photography but thanks to my family and close friends, I’m in a lot better place .
