Hidden Gems: Meet Marissa DiSimone of The Soul Sourceress

Today we’d like to introduce you to Marissa DiSimone

Hi Marissa, we’d love for you to start by introducing yourself.
It wasn’t until my mid-thirties that I began to hear spirit. My next door neighbor took his own life and came to me with messages for his wife and daughter from the other side. From that moment on my life changed forever.
Soon I was meeting my own spirit guides and hearing messages for strangers in the park or the grocery store. As a stay at home mom with two young daughters, I wasn’t sure what I was meant to do with these newfound abilities, however, the messages clearly came through with my exact next steps: I was meant to launch a business as a medium.
When I asked what classes or courses I should take to enhance these skills, I heard unmistakably, “None. You are meant to discover your own abilities so you can teach others to do the same.”
Now this didn’t make much sense at the time, however it does now! Since launching my business three years ago, I have been shown how to tap into much more than just mediumship including: past life regressions, messages from spirit guides, connection with spirit babies, seeing the future, connecting with people who can’t communicate for themselves, support families as their loved ones transition to the other side, tapping into specific stored trauma in this lifetime and, my favorite, be shown exactly how my clients receive their own guidance. As I tuned into each new ability, I was able to witness them from almost a third dimension, allowing me to understand the blueprint to teach others to do the same.
What I have learned through my own journey is that the more I trust, the more doors open. I do not plan what’s next, I am guided to create it, and it’s the most liberating and beautiful experience. When I open the door the ideas flood in — like my monthly free group readings or my Source our Soul Retreat this September in Mexico designed to support women in tapping in deeply to their own intuition. What I have learned along this journey is that every single one of us has access to the exact same messages, we just have to begin by listening and trusting.

Would you say it’s been a smooth road, and if not what are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced along the way?
Well, to begin with not even my own husband knew about my abilities, so sharing with him definitely rocked the foundation of how he knew me, or how anyone knew me. I had to get comfortable with knowing that not everyone would believe or accept me in this new phase. This definitely caused my childhood stories of not believing I was good enough to rage to the surface.
That same storyline continues to show its head when I surpass a new milestone and I tend to question if I can really do this. That’s when my lovely spiritual guides pop through and show me the way, leading me, guiding me, encouraging me. That does not mean I don’t experience the fear or the pain—I definitely do—I just find that since following my soul’s path I tend to move through the pain points much more quickly! I’ll be hit with extreme anxiety or even sickness and that’s when I know it’s time to lean in, time to let go of these old stories that are no longer serving me and trust again. Usually a day or two later I will emerge with a new perspective and know I am ready for the next venture. Then rinse and repeat!

Thanks – so what else should our readers know about The Soul Sourceress?
Your soul is your greatest guide. I support you in hearing and most importantly trusting what it is saying. I do this through individual and group readings, my online course, retreats, weekly writing calls, and my women’s mastermind which is a mentorship program designed to support women in accessing their own abilities!
I am most proud to witness how the women I have worked with trust in their inner guidance as they say yes to a soul-led life. A mentee of mine in a past women’s group I held, named Darlene was the greatest example of this. A few weeks after we began, she was diagnosed with stage four lymphoma. The focus of our work together began to shift as her soul’s journey completed its time here on earth. Witnessing her tap into complete faith in her soul, in the guidance she was hearing and seeing and sensing will stay with me forever. She embraced death in the most open and loving way and I feel so honored to be part of her journey. I know that we were meant to have that time together to remind her of how in tune her guidance was and I will forever cherish her words:
“I used to think that we were a person in a boat on a river, sometimes trying to paddle upstream and sometimes going with the flow. But what I have realized is that we are the person, we are the boat, we are the water, we are all of it. And God is all of it. We are the same energy, and once we embrace this, we will understand that we can do anything.”
Darlene trusted me on her journey, and that’s what I believe sets me apart with all my clients—that we have a deep and trusting connection. Most of my clients become like family; I see them again and again at events or more readings or even get the ping to touch base with them. I love seeing where their soul is taking them and love that I am invited in on their journey!

Do you have any advice for those looking to network or find a mentor?
The biggest lesson I learned on this path was to find other women on the same soul journey. I joined a mastermind for women in business even before creating my own business and it was the launching point I needed to trust the guidance coming through and also the support net I needed when the fear crept in. Having women in your corner who are there to meet you at your depths, to call you out when you’re not listening to your soul and to hold you when you are just in all the feels…is life changing. It’s why I have been drawn to work with women’s circles as I find the group work to be where the biggest breakthroughs happen.
Sometimes we get stuck in wanting our relationships we have had forever to meet all the needs of our current self and yet those people respond to you in the same manner in which they originally met you. So, say if it’s your best friend since college, it’s much easier to fall into gossiping or complaining about life as that may have been who you were when you first met. But when you meet someone when you are both on your soul path, that’s where you will witness each other and how you’ll see one another and how you can be there for one another. I am not saying those old relationships can’t progress in a beautiful way, they just take more work, and if you haven’t made a new female friend recently I encourage you to find one! The best way to do this is the next time you meet someone, don’t ask them the surface level questions like what do you do?, or how old are your children? Instead try something like: what are you passionate about? Or, what do you admire most about yourself? These may feel super strange to begin a new conversation but I promise you, your people, your soul people won’t think so, in fact they’ll be so grateful you asked so they can finally open up on the soul level they’ve been craving too!
