Today we’d like to introduce you to David Heisler.

Hi David, so excited to have you with us today. What can you tell us about your story?
About David Heisler

David Heisler is a lifestyle and product photographer with over 20 years of experience creating compelling visuals for fashion brands, lifestyle companies, and commercial clients. His career began under the mentorship of legendary photographer Greg Gorman in Los Angeles, where he developed a strong foundation in portraiture, lighting, and visual storytelling.

David built a thriving career working with major brands and emerging labels across Austin, Los Angeles, and New York. Now based in Western Massachusetts, he has launched theSTUDIO x DAVIDHEISLER — a natural light creative space in Easthampton designed for brands, artists, and entrepreneurs to bring their stories to life.

People are consistently drawn to David’s work not only for his keen eye and attention to detail, but also for the energy, warmth, and professionalism he brings to every shoot. His clean, cinematic style and ability to create authentic moments make him a trusted creative partner for brands looking to elevate their visual presence.

I’m sure it wasn’t obstacle-free, but would you say the journey has been fairly smooth so far?
Definitely not a perfectly smooth road — but every challenge along the way has shaped who I am as an artist and entrepreneur. Early in my career, working under Greg Gorman in Los Angeles, I learned firsthand how demanding and competitive this industry can be. It taught me resilience and the importance of constantly refining both my technical skills and creative voice.

Later, building my own business meant facing the realities of slow seasons, intense competition, and the constant need to evolve as both a creative and a brand. Moving from major markets like LA and Austin to Western Massachusetts brought its own set of challenges — rebuilding a client base from scratch and introducing myself to a new community.

But every challenge pushed me to think bigger, work harder, and stay true to my style and approach. I’m a big believer that success is built through perseverance, adaptability, and genuine passion for the craft. Looking back, I wouldn’t change a thing — the hard moments made the wins that much sweeter.

Thanks – so what else should our readers know about your work and what you’re currently focused on?
I’m a lifestyle and product photographer with over 20 years of experience working with fashion brands, lifestyle companies, and creative entrepreneurs. My work is about capturing honest, cinematic moments — whether that’s through brand campaigns, portraits, or product storytelling.

Over the years, I’ve had the opportunity to work with major brands like Ralph Lauren, Kendra Scott, Yeti, and Burlebo, as well as with actors, musicians, and creatives across the country. I started my career working alongside legendary photographer Greg Gorman in Los Angeles, which taught me the importance of lighting, precision, and storytelling at the highest level.

I’m known for a sharp eye for detail, a clean but natural style, and the energy I bring to every shoot. Clients often tell me it’s not just the final images they love — it’s the experience. I create a space where people feel comfortable, seen, and confident, and I think that shows up in the work.

I’m most proud of building a career that’s evolved with me — from the big markets of LA, Austin, and New York to now opening theSTUDIO x DAVIDHEISLER in Western Massachusetts. It’s been a full-circle moment — returning to my roots, creating a new creative community, and continuing to tell authentic stories through photography.

What sets me apart is that I’m not just delivering images — I’m helping brands and individuals feel something, tell their stories, and elevate their vision with heart, professionalism, and a sense of collaboration.

Can you tell us more about what you were like growing up?
I was definitely a high-energy kid — always moving, always curious, always getting into something creative. I had a lot of passion bottled up, and pretty early on, it found its outlet through photography.

I still remember getting my first camera and feeling like everything just clicked — like I had found the thing I was meant to do. While other kids were thinking about a hundred different careers, I knew pretty early that I wanted to make a life out of capturing moments, telling stories, and creating images that made people feel something.

That same energy and passion I had as a kid has stayed with me — it’s a big part of who I am as a photographer today.
