Meet Ferdinand Tettey of Austin, TX

Today we’d like to introduce you to Ferdinand Tettey.

Ferdinand, we appreciate you taking the time to share your story with us today. Where does your story begin?
I’m an immigrant from Ghana who moved to New York at a young age, chasing bigger opportunities and a new beginning. Adjusting to a new country came with its challenges, but it also opened up a lot of opportunities. I went on to study Computer Science at Brooklyn College, and after graduating, I became a software engineer. That career eventually brought me to Austin, Texas, where I’ve been growing professionally for the past few years.

Along the way, I realized I wanted to do more than just build things behind the scenes — I wanted to share what I was learning and help others who were curious about the tech world. So about two years ago, I started creating content online, focusing on making tech feel more approachable and giving young people a space to ask questions, get advice, and find a community.

Last year, I took another big step and started working on Creator Brand Hub (CBH), a platform designed to help creators and brands connect in a more transparent and meaningful way. After a lot of hard work, we launched just a couple of months ago, and it’s been incredible seeing the response. It’s been a busy few years, but everything I do — whether it’s engineering, building a business, or creating content — comes back to the same goal: helping others and building community.

Can you talk to us a bit about the challenges and lessons you’ve learned along the way. Looking back would you say it’s been easy or smooth in retrospect?
It definitely hasn’t been a completely smooth road. Being an immigrant came with its own set of challenges — from adjusting to a new culture at a young age to navigating school, work, and opportunities without a clear roadmap. Early in my career, there were moments of self-doubt, feeling like I didn’t fully belong, and trying to prove myself in competitive spaces. When I started creating content and building CBH, there were also new challenges: learning how to grow an audience, handling setbacks, building a business from scratch, and finding the right balance between my 9–5 job and my passion projects. But every obstacle taught me something important and shaped the person I am today. I’m grateful for the journey, even the hard parts, because they made the wins that much more meaningful.

Thanks – so what else should our readers know about your work and what you’re currently focused on?
I’m a software engineer by background, a content creator, and a founder. In my engineering work, I specialize in building reliable systems, solving complex technical problems, and helping teams improve processes through automation and better tooling. Outside of my 9–5, I create content focused on tech, productivity, and career growth — with the goal of making tech more approachable, especially for people who are new to the industry or come from underrepresented backgrounds.

One of the things I’m most proud of is launching Creator Brand Hub (CBH), a platform designed to bring more transparency and opportunity to the relationship between creators and brands. It’s been amazing to take something from an idea to a real product that’s helping people.

What sets me apart is that I bring both a technical and creative perspective to everything I do. I’m not just focused on building — I’m focused on community, impact, and making sure that people feel seen, supported, and empowered, whether that’s through my engineering work, the businesses I build, or the content I share.

What matters most to you? Why?
What matters most to me is helping others. I wouldn’t be where I am today without the people who took the time to offer guidance, encouragement, and opportunities along the way. That’s why I’m passionate about creating spaces — whether through my content, my work, or my businesses — where others feel supported, seen, and empowered to pursue their goals. Success feels much more meaningful when it’s shared, and I believe that real impact comes from lifting others up as you climb.
