Today we’d like to introduce you to Roberto Berrios.
Hi Roberto, we’d love for you to start by introducing yourself.
I started tattooing at a very young age, it’s always been a hobby of mine growing up as I pursued other careers. I opened my first tattoo shop when I was 29 years old. I’ve owned 4 shops before moving to Texas and opening my current location August 2018 call Hill country arts piercings and tattoos.
I’m sure it wasn’t obstacle-free, but would you say the journey has been fairly smooth so far?
My journey in the ink life has been extremely rewarding. Like any other lifestyle I’ve come across many ups and downs pursuing my path. I think what I struggled with the most was within my devotion to all my clients. It’s I moved around I found many of my clients reaching out to me for more work to be done and many times my new location was to far for them or I to travel conveniently. I miss everyone! Another struggle I’ve come across was starting over in a new locations, opening a new tattoo and piercing shop not having a network in the area yet, keeping the business thriving until it made it on its own. Lots of promoting!
Thanks for sharing that. So, maybe next you can tell us a bit more about your work?
Im a long time tattoo artist and body piercer. I work in and own Hill country arts piercing and tattoos in Dripping Springs Tx. I have many specialties such as fine line, realism, animal portraits, traditional, watercolor, floral, post mecectomy tattooing, cosmetics and most known for cover-ups. Im very proud to be a lifestyler tattoo artist. It simply isn’t easy or for just anybody. I think what set me aside from many others is my passion and devotion to this wonderful journey we call the ink life.
What quality or characteristic do you feel is most important to your success?
I feel being open minded and accepting to every area, its surroundings and the folks that visit or reside there is extremely important. Everyone has their own experiences, paths chosen, life’s up bringing, form of expression, purposes and it’s meaning. I think having this understanding, along with patience, listening to others express their visions with professionalism goes a long way when creating the designs they will wear and love for the rest of their lives.
