Today we’d like to introduce you to Jarin Wadiwalla.
Hi Jarin, thanks for sharing your story with us. To start, maybe you can tell our readers some of your backstory.
I have always gravitated to the health and wellness space, and have been exploring yoga and other mindfulness practices since adolescence. But, it wasn’t until the last several years going through a painful divorce and path of self and spiritual discovery that it became clear that I needed to listen to the inner whispering and work more intimately with people and frequencies.
I really enjoy holding loving space for others to explore their energy through sound, vibrational tuning fork therapy (Acutonics), and presence. Our bodies hold so much ancient wisdom…all we need to do is to tune in and listen in order to unearth our most authentic selves. In our current atmosphere of technology, immediate gratification, and distractions, I believe that the world needs this medicine now more than ever.
I met Isabel, the goddess owner of The Austin Salt Room, through a series of divine threads, and that has led me to becoming part of an empowering and supportive wellness sisterhood out of the most calming and magical salt room in Austin. We are a collective of generous and loving healers in Austin: Salt Therapy advocates, Midwives, Doulas, Reiki Practitioners, Intuitive Healers, Yoga Sharers, Sound Healers, and Acutonics practitioners. All here to spread love and wellness in Austin. It has been transformative to be a part of!
Can you talk to us a bit about the challenges and lessons you’ve learned along the way. Looking back would you say it’s been easy or smooth in retrospect?
It’s funny because sometimes we think that we can perfectly plan our experiences. and lives.
I was drowning in grief from my divorce and seeking realignment and self-discovery. I decided to step away from my job as a Montessori teacher for a while to go on a sort of ‘eat-pray-love’ journey. While in the process of selling my belongings, my former husband (who lived out of state at the time) was in town for work and suffered a terrible traumatic left lobe brain injury by fainting and hitting his head on a garage floor.
The craziest part was that I had a very vivid dream the night before, foreshadowing the awful accident. I had just finished telling my best friend about my dream, when we heard the news.
My former husband ended up at a hospital just 1 mile from my home in South Austin. He was unable to move the right side of his body, unable to speak, and was going to need a craniectomy (where they remove a large piece of your skull to make room for your brain to swell and heal) for the next 4 months.
During this time, he needed someone with him 24/7. With no family members capable of the task, I knew 100% that this was the soul journey I was actually meant to go on.
For the next 5 months I cared for my ex husband and through the whole experience, I endured healing and closure that I didn’t know I needed. Because I stayed in Austin, it also opened up opportunities for me to follow my wellness curiosities and study sound healing and tuning fork therapy (Acutonics) which turns out to be very powerful when healing from traumatic brain injuries (TBIs). Because I stayed in Austin, I had the opportunity to meet an incredible person, whom I now share an intimacy with that is new to me. It is blooming into the most beautiful relationship I have experienced.
The universe works in magical ways when we are open to listening to our intuition and surrendering.
Thanks for sharing that. So, maybe next you can tell us a bit more about your business?
I guide 1-on-1 Acutonics (tuning fork therapy) and sound sessions in the peaceful and glowing Austin Salt Room.
I was drawn to purchasing a tuning fork, and after a short time experimenting with it, I knew that this was going to be my healing modality. While studying Acutonics in Mexico with Lynn Wedekind, a senior faculty member of the Acutonics School of Integrative Medicine, I was experiencing the profound effects of these tools daily and realized the great medicine that they help us activate.
Acutonics is a system of vibrational sound therapy rooted in Traditional Chinese Medicine, where tuning forks (calibrated at different frequencies) are methodically placed on acupoints points on the body to release pain and tension, ease emotional distress, and cultivate overall mind-body connection in people and animals! The methods are supported by over 20 years of documented clinical case studies that demonstrate the positive effects of Sound Therapy.
Everything in and around us is vibrating. The frequency is the rate at which these particles are vibrating. The frequencies that we are exposed to, in addition to emotions, experiences, illness, etc., affect our own vibration which in turn, affects the functioning of our being. We are also mostly made of water, which is an incredible conductor of sound, so we are quite impressionable when it comes to our physical bodies being “re-tuned”.
Sound frequency therapy has powerful physical, emotional, energetic, and spiritual benefits. The medical and modern science community is currently researching and using a variety of sound and light frequencies to treat ailments of all sorts including pain management, wound healing and skin regeneration, anti-inflammatory uses, emotional distress, the health of premature infants, and so much more!
I am so grateful to hold loving space for others to explore their energy and cultivate their glittering life force energy (prana). That way…we can all live more authentic lives and bring forward our gifts and our best selves.
What matters most to you?
What matters most to me is spreading love to our community and helping each other in wellness and authenticity! Why else are we here?!
