Community Highlights: Meet Sagun Sedai of Sedai Homes

Today we’d like to introduce you to Sagun Sedai.

Hi Sagun, so excited to have you with us today. What can you tell us about your story?
My name is Sagun Sedai. I was born in Nepal and moved to Michigan at the age of four, where I grew up and spent most of my life. Earlier this year, I made the move to Austin, and I’ve been here for almost six months now. It was a big step, but one that opened the door to a new chapter one where I could fully align my passion for people, real estate, and entrepreneurship.

Shortly after arriving, I earned my Texas real estate license and joined REAL Brokerage. I hit the ground running. Within my first month, I secured a listing that went under contract, and I’m now actively working with numerous buyers. It’s been a fast-paced start, and I’m grateful for the momentum and relationships I’ve been able to build so far.

At the same time, I launched The Austin Report, a social media channel focused on local real estate, lifestyle, and city news. I committed to posting twice a day for 40 straight days, which helped grow the page to over 1,550 followers and more than 200,000 + views. I also run Sedai Homes, where I create and edit all my own video content including home walkthroughs, drone footage, and polished visuals to showcase the best of Austin real estate.

In addition to that, I publish a weekly newsletter filled with Austin updates, housing tips, and local highlights. It goes out every Sunday at 9 a.m. and has become a great way to stay connected with clients, friends, and the growing community here.

Outside of client work and content creation, I’ve been attending networking events across the city and have already met some truly amazing people. This journey is still just beginning for me, and every day is about learning, growing, and showing up for others whether that’s helping someone find their dream home or simply being a positive and reliable presence in their corner.

Austin already feels like home, and I’m excited for what’s ahead.

Alright, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
Definitely not. It’s taken a lot of hard work, discipline, and patience. One of the biggest challenges has been balancing everything, especially when it comes to creating content for The Austin Report. I do all the editing myself, and there were times when other commitments made it hard to stay consistent with posting.

On top of that, getting used to the natural flow of real estate was a learning curve. Not every deal works out the way you hope, and it took time to understand that it’s part of the process. Staying emotionally steady and not getting discouraged was something I had to grow into.

To stay on track, I started waking up at 5 AM to give myself quiet time to plan, create, and edit before the day gets busy. That discipline, along with better time management, helped me push through. I stayed committed, kept showing up, and that consistency has made all the difference. It’s been incredibly rewarding to see the growth and impact from putting in the work day after day.

We’ve been impressed with Sedai Homes, but for folks who might not be as familiar, what can you share with them about what you do and what sets you apart from others?
I’m a real estate agent here in Austin, specializing in helping people buy and sell homes with confidence. I work under REAL Brokerage and also create content through my brand, Sedai Homes, and my community-focused platform, The Austin Report.

What sets me apart is how I combine real estate knowledge with creative content. I shoot, edit, and produce everything myself from drone footage and home walkthroughs to local market updates and city news. I’m known for delivering value-packed, consistent content that helps people not just understand the real estate market but feel connected to Austin as a whole.

I’m most proud of how much I’ve built in a short time. In just a few months, I’ve helped multiple buyers, secured a listing, and built a social media following of over 1,550 people with 200,000+ views while also launching a weekly newsletter that goes out every Sunday at 9 a.m. None of it has been easy, but it’s been worth it because I know I’m building something real that helps people.

My focus is always on being relatable, honest, and resourceful. Whether it’s through a showing, a reel, or a conversation, I want people to walk away feeling more informed and more supported.

Before we let you go, we’ve got to ask if you have any advice for those who are just starting out?
My biggest advice is to be yourself. Don’t try to copy what everyone else is doing. People connect with authenticity, so lean into your strengths and let your personality shine through in everything you do.

Also, understand that there’s no shortcut to success hard work and consistency are key. There will be days when things feel slow or overwhelming, but showing up every day, even in small ways, is what builds momentum. Stay patient, trust the process, and don’t stop learning. Looking back, I wish I had known how important consistency really is not just in results, but in building trust and credibility over time.
