Hidden Gems: Meet An-Marie of Body By An-Marie, LLC

Today we’d like to introduce you to An-Marie.

Alright, so thank you so much for sharing your story and insight with our readers. To kick things off, can you tell us a bit about how you got started?
Where do I begin? Growing up as an athlete, I developed a deep respect for the body–its power, intelligence, and resilience. That early foundation led me down a path of continuous learning and self-discovery.

My journey began with yoga, specifically Ashtanga, as a way to manage stress and reconnect with myself. From there, I started teaching fitness classes and became a certified Strength Coach, helping others build physical strength and confidence.

But over time, I realized that true, lasting transformation goes deeper than exercise. Working with clients of all ages, I saw recurring patterns–imbalances that couldn’t be addressed through movement alone. That led me to nutrition, and I became a certified Nutrition Coach to help my clients heal and fuel their bodies from within.

Alongside this, I explored massage therapy and spiritual work–both of which played powerful roles in my own healing. Through these experiences, I began to see the full picture. I envisioned a holistic approach to wellness that integrated massage, energy work, nutrition, and personalized fitness.

Today, I offer a deeply integrated method that honors the mind-body connection. My mission is to teach clients how to understand their bodies, take ownership of their well-being, and become active participants in their own healing–through movement, nourishment, and self-awareness.

Because when we listen to our bodies and learn from them, we don’t just heal–we thrive.

Can you talk to us a bit about the challenges and lessons you’ve learned along the way. Looking back would you say it’s been easy or smooth in retrospect?
I wish I could say the road has been smooth–but let’s be real, if everything was smooth, something’s probably wrong! Haha.

The real challenge has always been me. I’ve had to learn how to fix me–and I’m still learning every single day. I believe that the more I grow, heal, and align with my own truth, the more I can truly help my clients.

Every step of the journey has come with its challenges–but I don’t see them as struggles. I see them as lessons. Opportunities to grow, to reflect on what works, and what doesn’t, and how I can evolve.

From working with people of all backgrounds, all body types, and all life experiences–to navigating the ups and downs of running my own business–it’s all part of the process. Growth never comes without discomfort.

Yes, there are moments when I dive headfirst into the unknown, not entirely sure where I’ll land. But I leap anyway. And each leap strengthens my ability to support others in their healing journeys.

That’s what this work is about–constant learning, constant growing, and showing up with the willingness to evolve, both for myself and for the people I serve.

As you know, we’re big fans of Body By An-Marie, LLC. For our readers who might not be as familiar what can you tell them about the brand?
From the moment I see a client, I view them as a whole person–their body, their challenges, their energy, their emotions. I don’t just see pain or discomfort; I notice the stories their body holds–their resilience, their sadness, their tension, their spirit.

I always begin with a conversation, spending at least 15 minutes reconnecting, learning what’s changed since our last session, and understanding what their body is communicating. As we talk, I’m already formulating a treatment plan in my mind.

I typically begin with Reiki to energetically assess where blocks or imbalances exist within the body. But every session is unique–the moment I tune in, I often feel guided to start with a different modality based on what their body truly needs in that moment.

Throughout the entire session, I’m listening–beyond words–tuning into the body’s subtle signals, adjusting my approach to bring deeper release and alignment. I work from head to toe. Integrating massage, energy work, and other techniques to address physical tension, emotional stagnation, and energetic imbalances.

I always close with energy work, ensuring we’ve brought balance and connection to both body and mind. Every session is intuitive, personalized, and grounded in my mission to help each client reconnect with themselves–fully, deeply, and holistically.

I don’t simply let my clients walk out the door after their session. I believe the healing process continues beyond the treatment table.

I always spend a few extra minutes talking with them–reflecting on their experience, answering questions, and offering insights into what their body shared during our time together. From there I’ll guide them toward their next step, whether that’s nutritional support, a personalized fitness plan, or simple practices they can incorporate into daily life to keep their body aligned and their energy flowing.

For me, it’s never just about the session–it’s about empowering my clients to feel supported, informed, and confident in their journey long after they leave my space.

Are there any apps, books, podcasts, blogs or other resources you think our readers should check out?
Ongoing education is a vital part of how I grow–as a practitioner and as a person. Every workshop I attend allows me to learn, ask questions, and continuously refine my skills so I can perform at my best for my clients.

I also rely on my trusted resources to stay informed and inspired. Massage & Bodywork magazines, anatomy books, recipe books, and virtual anatomy apps are part of my regular toolkit for deepening my understanding of the body, especially when it comes to muscular health and functional movement. Books like The Truth About Cancer help expand my perspective on holistic wellness and healing from within.

In my personal life, I lean heavily on my intuition and lived experiences–they guide how I show up for myself and the people I work with. I’m also grateful for a close network of colleagues in the nutrition and supplement fields. They are my go-to people for expert insight when my clients or I need deeper support beyond bodywork.

While I don’t always have time to listen to podcasts, when I do, I enjoy turning into experts like Andrew Huberman, Dave Asprey, and Dr. Joe Dispenza. Their work around human potential, neuroscience, and wellness keeps me curious and always evolving.

For me, it’s all about lending knowledge, experience, intuition, and community–to create a well-rounded holistic approach to healing.
