Check Out Angie Gaylor’s Story

Today we’d like to introduce you to Angie Gaylor.

Hi Angie, so excited to have you on the platform. So before we get into questions about your work-life, maybe you can bring our readers up to speed on your story and how you got to where you are today?
My love for photography began back in high school, when I was encouraged to pursue my passion at the renowned program in Santa Barbara, California. That led me to study at the Brooks Institute of Photography, where I laid the foundation for a career behind the lens. From there, I moved back to Southern California to help launch and grow a successful photography business, working alongside one of the top photography teams in the region—briefly monopolizing the market with our creative edge and commitment to quality.

After relocating to Austin, Texas, I continued the journey solo. Over the years, I’ve photographed everything from weddings, portraits, and family sessions to food, products, boudoir, and events—but lifestyle and brand storytelling remain my favorite. I love capturing the essence of people and businesses in a way that feels authentic, editorial, and timeless.

I’m sure it wasn’t obstacle-free, but would you say the journey has been fairly smooth so far?
It hasn’t always been a smooth road. Like many creatives, I started out with a lot of nerves and self-doubt—especially when it came to putting my work out there and finding my unique voice in a competitive industry. Over time, I’ve gained the confidence that only experience can bring, but new challenges continue to show up in different ways. One of the biggest ongoing hurdles is keeping up with the fast-paced world of social media and the constantly evolving ways we’re expected to market ourselves. It can feel overwhelming at times, but I’ve also come to embrace this part of the journey. Staying current, learning new platforms, and finding creative ways to connect with people is part of how I continue to grow—not just as a photographer, but as a business owner.

Appreciate you sharing that. What else should we know about what you do?
I’m all about capturing real stories in a way that feels fresh, natural, and a little bit editorial. I specialize in lifestyle and brand photography, but I’ve shot everything from boudoir to product to big life moments—and I love the variety. At the heart of it all is connection. Whether it’s a solo entrepreneur or a full team, I help people feel confident in front of the camera so their true personality comes through.

I’m most proud of the trust my clients place in me and the relationships that grow from that. It’s not just about snapping pretty pictures—it’s about creating an experience that feels easy, fun, and collaborative.

What sets me apart? I bring a mix of intuition, creativity, and adaptability to every shoot. I stay curious, keep up with the trends (even if social media tries to stress me out), and genuinely love helping people tell their stories through strong, scroll-stopping visuals.
