Today we’d like to introduce you to Jordyn Shaw.
Jordyn, we appreciate you taking the time to share your story with us today. Where does your story begin?
Drops of Jupiter Candle Co. was born in my kitchen in North Austin; during a time when I was seeking cleaner materials for my home, more intentional moments for myself, and a creative outlet that felt spiritually aligned. I didn’t have a fancy studio, no business plan…Just a deep desire to build something meaningful for my family, a text from a friend, and a spiritual nudge with the words “Start Where You Are”
And that was the name of the very first candle I ever made. That was the intention I poured into the wax, because it was exactly where I found myself—at the beginning, unsure but hopeful, choosing to take a step forward with what I had.
From there, what started as a personal wellness project quickly grew into something bigger: a soulful journey of self-discovery, and connection through scent.
At Drops of Jupiter, every product is hand-poured using plant based waxes, clean-burning wicks, and thoughtfully sourced fragrance oils. But beyond the materials, it’s really about the energy behind them. Each scent is tied to a feeling, a shift, or a sense of storytelling—meant to transform any space into a sanctuary.
Over the past year, this journey has been transformational for me. Drops of Jupiter has opened doors to community markets, collaborations with other small businesses, and meaningful connections with customers who resonate with our mission. It’s allowed me to lean into my spiritual gifts, tap into my creativity, and show up more fully—not just as a maker, but as a mother, artist, and advocate for intentional living.
I’m sure it wasn’t obstacle-free, but would you say the journey has been fairly smooth so far?
What most people don’t see is the trial-and-error behind each candle. There’s real science involved—from testing wick sizes and wax-to-fragrance ratios to perfecting burn times and vessel safety. I can’t tell you how many late nights I spent and still spend surrounded by imperfect test batches and notebooks full of formulas. All while keeping the intention, care, and story telling at the forefront of the brand. But I keep going. I stay curious, stay committed, and choose to see every setback as part of the process.
Thanks for sharing that. So, maybe next you can tell us a bit more about your work?
At its core, Drops of Jupiter Candle Co. is more than a candle brand—it’s a vessel for storytelling, memory, and meaningful connection. I specialize in crafting thoughtful, intention-based gifts that speak to the heart. Whether it’s a custom candle made from a loved one’s ashes, flowers from a memorial, or a piece of repurposed home décor that’s been transformed into something sacred, every item I create is rooted in honoring who it’s for—not just what it is.
My background in customer service runs deep—I’ve worked in the field for over a decade, and I carry that spirit into everything I do. I listen closely. I ask questions. I make space for people to feel seen. And I believe that care and intention should be infused into every part of the experience—from scent selection to packaging to the first moment someone lights their candle.
What sets me apart is the soul of this brand. This isn’t just about scaling a business or following trends. It’s about the deep, spiritual connections I’ve been able to form through scent, memory, and energy. I’ve had customers cry at pickup. I’ve been trusted with heirlooms, ashes, and stories that deserve to live on in light.
Those moments? That’s what I’m most proud of. It’s not always easy to keep soul work at the center while trying to grow—but I stay grounded in the reason I started: to make people feel something. To create with care. To help others find comfort, clarity, or peace through scent.
This journey has been unexpected, but it’s been divinely aligned—and I wouldn’t trade it for anything.
So maybe we end on discussing what matters most to you and why?
What matters most to me is legacy through connection. Drops of Jupiter wasn’t just about making candles. It was about creating something lasting and proving to myself that I could do it. Something my daughter, Jupiter, could look back on and say, “My mom built that with love, with care, and with purpose.”
This journey became about showing my daughter what it looks like to follow your heart, serve your community, and build something from scratch…with soul.
If one day she wants to start a business, or pursue a creative dream, or walk her own path, I want her to have a blueprint. I want her to see that it’s possible, that it’s meaningful, and that yes—there will be bumps along the way—but there’s beauty in learning, growing, and evolving.
What matters most is that I’m building a legacy not just of beautiful products, but of purpose-driven work. Work that nurtures others. Work that lights the way forward for my baby.
