Meet Jodi Brassard of Brassard Equine Services, LLC.

Today we’d like to introduce you to Jodi Brassard.

Hi Jodi, we’re thrilled to have a chance to learn your story today. So, before we get into specifics, maybe you can briefly walk us through how you got to where you are today?
Hi, I’m Jodi Brassard—an all-around horse trainer and bodyworker based in Austin, Texas. My love for horses started early, thanks to my mom, who introduced me to them when I was a little girl. I’ve been riding ever since, and for the past 25 years, I’ve been bodyworking, training, showing, and giving lessons through my busy practice, Brassard Equine Services, LLC.

Alongside my training work, I co-host and teach Elemental Acupressure’s onsite courses in Georgetown, TX. I’m also proud to serve as the founding Wellness Ambassador for Equine CBD with TOML, USA.

In 2016, I began exploring Traditional Chinese Medicine as a way to deepen the connection and improve the well-being of the horses I work with. That’s when I found acupressure—and it changed everything. For me, acupressure has been the answer to “getting and keeping your horse sound.” Over the years, I’ve seen that so many injuries happen when horses are asked to perform before their bodies are truly ready. Acupressure is a gentle, powerful way to support their health and performance without pushing them too far.

When I’m not teaching or working on client horses, you’ll probably find me on the trail or moving cattle with my horses, Koqui and Keeva (though I always say Keeva rescued me). My two dogs, Luna and Cooper, are usually along for the ride—and they bring the energy everywhere we go. I also travel regularly to offer clinics in training, riding, acupressure, and even Chinese Fire Cupping.

It’s an honor to be part of the journey with so many incredible horses and humans.

Would you say it’s been a smooth road, and if not what are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced along the way?
Working with horses is never a straight or easy path, but it’s absolutely a rewarding one. There’s always something extra to manage—whether it’s a special supplement, wrapping a leg, or just keeping an eye on something that doesn’t quite look right. Those of us in the equine world understand that constant level of care. But to me, one of the biggest challenges isn’t the work itself—it’s the worry. We worry about them around the clock. These incredible, powerful animals can be brought to their knees by a little belly ache. Horse people don’t shy away from hard work—that part we can do all day long. It’s the emotional weight of that worry that’s the hardest.

Another challenge is navigating the human side of the horse-human partnership. People often come in with expectations about how quickly a horse should progress, but every horse is an individual, and they each move at their own pace. I’m really proud to say that at this point in my career, I’ve found a strong balance—doing what’s best for the horse, while also being able to clearly communicate that process and those needs to the human side of the team.

We’ve been impressed with Brassard Equine Services, LLC. , but for folks who might not be as familiar, what can you share with them about what you do and what sets you apart from others?
I’m a large animal bodyworker, licensed in acupressure, with a focus on supporting the whole health of the horse—inside and out. Acupressure is a safe, noninvasive, and highly effective method rooted in Traditional Chinese Medicine. It works by stimulating specific pressure points on the body—similar to the ones we have—to support the flow of energy and blood, aid digestion, relieve pain, boost the immune system, and promote overall balance. What I love most about acupressure is that it empowers horse owners to take an active role in their horse’s health. It’s a gentle yet powerful therapy that helps create the best possible experience and quality of life for our equine partners. I always say: we’re putting the power of healing right into your hands.

The thing I’m most excited about right now is finally achieving one of my long-term goals—making bodywork accessible to everyone who has a horse. I’ve brought it online in easy-to-follow, DIY formats with clear charts, and kept it budget-friendly so anyone involved in a horse’s life can take part. These tools are now available on my website, designed to help guide horse owners and caretakers in supporting their horse’s well-being—on their own, in a way that’s simple, effective, and empowering.

How do you think about happiness?
Horses are my joy—plain and simple. There’s nothing that makes me happier than seeing a horse truly enjoy their job, their life, and thrive in both body and spirit. Being part of that journey through bodywork is an absolute honor. It’s deeply rewarding work, and I genuinely can’t imagine doing anything else. Helping horses feel their best is not just what I do—it’s who I am.
