Today we’d like to introduce you to Morgan Cooley.
Hi Morgan, please kick things off for us with an introduction to yourself and your story.
What started as a personal outlet during the chaos of the pandemic quickly revealed itself as my purpose. After 8 years in real estate, I opened The Pilates Barre, not because the path was obvious, but because I couldn’t find what I was searching for. Most wellness spaces felt cookie-cutter, exclusive, and disconnected from the everyday woman. I realized I wasn’t alone and that Killeen deserved something more. As the first Pilates studio in the city, I carried a vision before others could see it. I knew this community needed something uniquely special: a space where movement meets empowerment, and where wellness is accessible, culturally relevant, and deeply inclusive.
The Pilates Barre is more than a studio. It’s a movement. It’s a story of creating what didn’t exist and choosing to build it anyway. We’ve created a home for transformation, connection, and culture. We’re just getting started.
We all face challenges, but looking back would you describe it as a relatively smooth road?
It’s been far from easy. I’ve faced financial setbacks, delays, doubt, and the pressure of carrying a vision few others could see. Building something from the ground up, especially as the first Pilates studio in Killeen, has required relentless faith, creativity, and grit. But every challenge has only pushed me closer to purpose. I’ve come to trust that this journey was divinely assigned. Creating this space wasn’t just about business, it became a calling. The Pilates Barre has grown into a sanctuary for movement, transformation, and connection. It’s a reflection of what’s possible when passion meets perseverance, and it’s proof that beauty, strength, and impact can rise from uncertainty
Appreciate you sharing that. What else should we know about what you do?
At The Pilates Barre, we create transformative experiences that blend movement, music, and mindset. I specialize in Heated Barre and Hot Pilates with a high-energy, cultured twist. Think curated hip-hop and R&B playlists, affirmations, mood lighting, and a vibe that celebrates community first. People over profits. What I’m known for is creating the FIRST Pilates space in Killeen. But even more than it being just a Pilates studio, it’s a space where people, especially women who don’t always feel represented in traditional wellness spaces, feel seen, strong, and supported. We combine strength and softness, grit and grace, and hold space for healing and hype in the same breath. It’s all about wellness, not fitness.
What I’m most proud of is the environment we’ve built. It’s inclusive, empowering, and deeply intentional. We’re not just a fitness studio, we’re a movement. What sets us apart is the vision and the energy behind us. We aren’t trying to be anything else. We’re too busy creating a new blueprint. Here, you don’t just take class… you feel it, you live it, and you leave transformed.
Is there anyone you’d like to thank or give credit to?
So many people deserve credit. My late husband, David, carried this vision before I did. He believed in me even when I didn’t believe in myself and pushed me to step into my purpose. He brought us here, and his faith in me fueled everything I created. My tribe held me up when I wanted to walk away. Some stepped in quietly without pay, without recognition just to keep things going while I grieved. They gave me the space to process, while making sure the dream stayed alive. I’m forever grateful for them.
And of course, the community. The Pilates Barre wouldn’t exist without the women who show up, support, share, and trust us to be a part of their journey. They are, without question, the best part of this studio.
