Today we’d like to introduce you to Lauren Parr.
Hi Lauren, please kick things off for us with an introduction to yourself and your story.
I have had an artist’s heart my entire life. I was the type of kid who wanted to try everything — piano, guitar, painting, writing, photography — anything that gave me a way to express what I was feeling and seeing in the world. When I began college, photography became the medium I focused on most, and for the past 12 years it’s been my career. I’ve had the honor of documenting love stories, celebrations, and real life all across the world, and that chapter shaped me in so many ways.
What I loved most about photographing weddings wasn’t just the images themselves, but the chance to create space for people to feel seen, celebrated, and deeply connected. Today, I think of myself less as just a photographer and more as a creative director and multi-dimensional artist. This season I’m in has been centered around rediscovering the person I’ve always been — the girl who loved to experiment, create experiences, and bring people together through art. That’s why I’ve recently begun hosting intimate dinner parties for creative women — gatherings rooted in connection, storytelling, and beauty — which feel like a natural extension of the same heart I’ve always brought to my work. This season is about expansion and rediscovery, leaning into the full spectrum of my creativity and finding new ways to tell stories that connect us.
Would you say it’s been a smooth road, and if not what are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced along the way?
Definitely not — the road has been full of mistakes and lessons. One of the biggest challenges has been learning how to balance my work life with my real life. For years, I poured so much of myself into my business that I often forgot to nurture the parts of me outside of work. Twelve years in, I understand that my creativity only flourishes when I protect my energy. I’m now deeply devoted to rest and regeneration, because those are the spaces where my best ideas are born. I’ve built strong boundaries around my work and make just as much time for play and joy — and I can honestly say I’m so much better for it, both as an artist and as a human.
Can you tell our readers more about what you do and what you think sets you apart from others?
For over a decade, I’ve been known as a wedding photographer with a colorful, modern, and authentic style. People have often told me “I can feel your photos, like I know the people.” My work has taken me all over the world documenting love stories, and I’ve been nationally published along the way. But what I’m most proud of isn’t just the images themselves — it’s the way my clients felt: seen, celebrated and comfortable being their truest selves in front of my lens.
Today, I would describe my work as sitting at the intersection of photography, creative direction and experiential storytelling. I specialize in creating spaces and visuals that bring people together in meaningful ways — whether that’s through documenting a wedding, curating a brand’s visual identity, or hosting my Haus of Muses dinner parties where women gather for connection and creativity.
What sets me apart is the throughline of authenticity and artistry in everything I do. I don’t just create for aesthetics — I create to make people feel something. My gift has always been blending beauty with depth, whether it’s in an image, an experience or a gathering. That’s the thread that ties all of my work together.
We all have a different way of looking at and defining success. How do you define success?
For me, success is really simple. First, it’s practical — are my bills paid, do I have enough set aside for future me, and can I sustain the life I want to live? But just as important, it’s about joy and freedom. Success means having the time and space to create art just for the sake of it, to travel and share meals with friends, to rest without guilt, and to savor the little luxuries — like a home I love and get to decorate as my heart desires, curled up on the couch with a book and a dog at my feet. Ultimately, success is being able to live with gratitude every day, no matter how big or small the moment.
