Today we’d like to introduce you to Paloma Ramirez.
Alright, so thank you so much for sharing your story and insight with our readers. To kick things off, can you tell us a bit about how you got started?
A silly breakup with my first boyfriend in high school unexpectedly led me to where I am today. My passion for being in front of the camera and expressing my creativity grew tremendously year after year, and I never imagined how much I would grow in this industry. It all began with my friend’s new camera, we started taking photos just for fun and posting them on Instagram. Week after week, we created, and the joy I felt from sharing my creativity became undeniable.
In 2024, my career truly skyrocketed. After nearly nine years of modeling, I’ve been blessed with opportunities that range from runways, campaign shoots, music videos, and commercials, to working on a Robert Rodriguez film, gracing the cover of a magazine, and even appearing in servals. Each experience has deepened my love for this path.
Of course, the journey hasn’t been without its heartaches. But I’ve learned to embrace every challenge with the mindset that “rejection is God’s protection.” I’m grateful for how far I’ve come, and I’m excited to see what else God has in store for me.
Alright, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
My body was my biggest struggle throughout this journey. In an industry where image is everything, I felt like I was constantly being picked apart by my own eyes. Too much of this, not enough of that. It took a toll on my confidence and, for a while. I would even cry during fitting if something couldn’t fit over my chest. That’s was the worst.
There were times I questioned if I even belonged, and I went through phases of comparing myself to others, wishing I looked different. But over time, I realized that my uniqueness is my strength. The very things I used to view as “flaws” are what make me stand out today.
Learning to embrace my body, honor it, and not fight against it has been one of the hardest but most rewarding lessons. Now, I see modeling not just as showcasing clothes or a look, but as celebrating individuality. My journey with my body has taught me self love, patience, and the reminder that I am fearfully and wonderfully made.
Appreciate you sharing that. What else should we know about what you do?
I’m a model based from Texas, but at the heart of it, I see myself as a storyteller. Every runway, photoshoot, or campaign is an opportunity to bring a vision to life, and that’s something I take a lot of pride in. I specialize editorial modeling, but I’ve been blessed to explore a wide range of work from fashion campaigns and music videos to acting in film and even landing magazine covers.
What I’m most proud of is my versatility and my consistency. I’ve put in almost a decade of work, and through that time I’ve built a reputation for showing up, being professional, and bringing energy and creativity to every project. People know they can trust me to deliver, whether it’s in front of a high-fashion lens or on set for a commercial.
What sets me apart is my resilience and authenticity. This industry can sometimes feel surface level, but I’ve learned to bring me into every job, my personality, my story, my heart. I don’t want to just look good in photos; I want to inspire others to embrace their own uniqueness and chase their passions, even when the road gets tough.
We’d be interested to hear your thoughts on luck and what role, if any, you feel it’s played for you?
I believe luck has definitely played a role in my journey, but I also think it works hand-in-hand with preparation and faith. There have been moments where I happened to be in the right place at the right time. Meeting someone who opened a door for me, or getting an opportunity I never could’ve planned for. To some, that might look like “good luck,” but I also see it as God’s timing.
Of course, there have been seasons of “bad luck” too – auditions I didn’t book, opportunities that fell through, or projects that didn’t turn out the way I hoped. At the time, those moments felt disappointing, but they always pushed me toward something better. That’s why I’ve adopted the mindset of “rejection is God’s protection.”
So while luck has had its place, I truly believe it’s been my consistency, resilience, and faith that have carried me through. Luck might open a door, but it’s what you do once you walk through it that makes the real difference.
