Today we’d like to introduce you to Andrés Melo.
Hi Andrés, we’d love for you to start by introducing yourself.
I’ve always been passionate about multimedia. Since I was a kid I loved cameras and any device that could capture audio or video. My mom was a photographer and I used to be her little helper, going with her to different jobs and learning a lot along the way. That’s really where everything started for me.
The first time I had my own business was with a music recording studio, where I spent several years recording and producing. After moving to the United States I started my own business again, this time as a photographer and videographer. In a way I ended up doing what I used to do as a child with my mom, only now on a much bigger scale.
Today I film around eighty weddings a year and it makes me truly happy to capture all those moments so couples can look back on them and relive their day.
Can you talk to us a bit about the challenges and lessons you’ve learned along the way. Looking back would you say it’s been easy or smooth in retrospect?
It hasn’t been a rough road, but like any journey the first years came with their challenges. Starting out meant putting in extra time, investing in gear, and figuring out how to build a client base. It was a grind at times, but because I love what I do it never felt heavy. When you’re passionate about your work, even the struggles turn into part of the fun.
Alright, so let’s switch gears a bit and talk business. What should we know about your work?
I run my own wedding and event videography business where I get to capture some of the most meaningful moments in people’s lives. Weddings are what I specialize in, and today I film around eighty a year. What I’m most proud of is being able to create films that feel personal and emotional, something couples can watch years later and instantly be transported back to their day.
What sets me apart is the way I approach storytelling. I don’t just record the moments, I look for the emotions, the little details, and the voices of the people who matter most. I love including interviews and personal touches that make each film unique to the couple. For me it’s not about following a formula but about creating something that truly represents their story.
Is there a quality that you most attribute to your success?
I think the most important quality behind my success is treating every project with the mindset that it has to be flawless, almost as if my life depended on it. When you put that level of care into your work, people can feel it in the result. I don’t just want to deliver a video, I want couples to relive their day in a way that moves them every time they watch it.
That mentality, combined with my passion for storytelling and the discipline I learned from years of working in music and photography, has shaped the way I approach every wedding. It’s about dedication, patience, and always pushing for excellence, because those are the details that set the experience apart.
