Today we’d like to introduce you to Catherine Perales.
Hi Catherine, so excited to have you with us today. What can you tell us about your story?
I started my career in sales, spending more than a decade in the car business. During those years I learned how to listen, how to read between the lines of what people said they wanted, and how to guide them toward the decision that truly fit their needs. I enjoyed helping people, but I also knew deep down that I wanted to create a bigger impact. I wanted the work I did every day to carry more meaning.
That’s when real estate began to call to me. Buying or selling a home is not only a financial decision, it is often one of the most emotional and life-changing experiences a person will ever have. To be trusted to walk someone through that process felt like the perfect way to combine my love of strategy with my heart for people.
Looking back, I can see that the skills I developed in my first career laid the foundation for the way I serve clients today. Negotiation, advocacy, and a relentless commitment to making sure people feel confident in their decisions are what have allowed my business to grow. Every closing reminds me that this is exactly where I am meant to be, and I feel grateful every day to play a role in such an important chapter of people’s lives.
Would you say it’s been a smooth road, and if not what are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced along the way?
Has it been a smooth road? Absolutely not — and I say that with a smile. I joke all the time that my clients keep me on my toes because nothing about my deals is ever “standard.” I’ll hear other agents talk about how simple and straightforward their transactions are, and meanwhile I’m over here navigating plot twists that feel straight out of a TV drama. But honestly, I think that’s part of what makes me good at what I do. Every challenge has pushed me to be more creative, more resourceful, and more determined. At this point, I almost expect a little chaos — and I’ve learned how to thrive in it.
Alright, so let’s switch gears a bit and talk business. What should we know?
My business is built on relationships and results. I’m a REALTOR® with All City Real Estate, and I specialize in helping people through one of the biggest financial and emotional decisions of their lives — buying or selling a home. I’m known for being a strong negotiator and a fierce advocate for my clients, and I think that’s what sets me apart. I don’t know many strategic Realtors that can do what I can do. God really blessed me with a rare gift and I try my hardest to always share it. It’s not just about closing a deal for me; it’s about making sure my clients feel supported, protected, and confident from start to finish. I have a very close relationship with all my clients.
What I’m most proud of, brand-wise, is that people know me as someone they can trust. Someone they can be VULNERABLE WITH. I don’t disappear after closing either. I stay connected, whether it’s helping with property tax protests, providing market updates, or just checking in. My goal has always been to create lifelong relationships, not just one-time transactions. I believe thats why 90% of my business is repeat and referrals.
If readers take away one thing about my business, it’s that I’m all in when it comes to my clients. I bring strategy, heart, and a little bit of grit to every single deal. No matter how simple or complicated the process gets, my clients know I’m going to fight for them like family.
Is there something surprising that you feel even people who know you might not know about?
Something surprising about me is that even though I work in such a people-focused business, I’m actually very anti-social by nature and have dealt with social anxiety for a long time. Most people see me negotiating, networking, and confidently handling business, but what they don’t see is that I’m still a work in progress when it comes to my own confidence outside of business. Another fun surprise is that I’m actually super goofy once you get to know me. My clients often expect me to be serious all the time, but the truth is I love to laugh and bring humor into stressful situations. I think that balance — being able to advocate fiercely while also lightening the mood is part of what makes working with me unique.
