Community Highlights: Meet Jamison Casey of Buddy’s Mufflers

Today we’d like to introduce you to Jamison Casey.

Hi Jamison, thanks for joining us today. We’d love for you to start by introducing yourself.
I grew up in a “car family” with my dad being my biggest teacher and inspiration. My dad an I built a hand full of muscle cars together and went to numerous car shows. I worked in Sheet Metal for years, but never had a passion for it, it was a paycheck. Cars have always been what I love. My wife and I moved to the Austin area in 2020 and I made the call to open up an automotive shop of some kind. I did some market research to see where there was a need to be filled and settled on a muffler shop in Liberty Hill. I came up with the name Buddy’s and the rest is what you see now.

I’m sure it wasn’t obstacle-free, but would you say the journey has been fairly smooth so far?
When I first opened, I sunk a lot of money into set up, equipment, and inventory. I didnt have budget for advertising so getting off the ground was a grind. I would go to local car meets and talk to people, hand out as many cards as I could. I joined a car club and they really helped me get things rolling. Soon after, I would get tagged in posts across social media any time someone posted looking for a muffler shop. Now I’m booked out solid.

Appreciate you sharing that. What should we know about Buddy’s Mufflers?
Buddy’s Mufflers is an automotive exhaust shop. We replace catalytic converters, custom bend pipes, install mufflers, and have a large variety of tips for that cosmetic touch. As a one man shop, I am most known for the personal connection you will get here. I want to talk to you and see what you want, then help guide you to the parts that will achieve that goal. I’m not another big chain store just trying to nickel and dime you, I want to give you the best deal I can so you want to come back again the next time you need work done.

Where we are in life is often partly because of others. Who/what else deserves credit for how your story turned out?
As cliche as it may sound, my parents played the biggest role in getting this business together. Not only are they always supportive of my dreams, but they started their own business from scratch. They know the struggle, they helped me see things in ways I otherwise wouldn’t have. They showed me that you can put in the work, and make it happen.
