Hidden Gems: Meet Brenda Elving of Brenda Elving, ND

Today we’d like to introduce you to Brenda Elving.

Hi Brenda, can you start by introducing yourself? We’d love to learn more about how you got to where you are today?
My journey into natural health started in my own home. As a homeschooling mother of six, I quickly realized that keeping a large family well meant learning how to address health concerns with simple, practical tools. Several of my children had food sensitivities. What began as a necessity soon grew into a passion. I studied every book I could find, sought out experts in immunology and wellness, learned from hands-on experience, and eventually pursued formal training to deepen my knowledge.

I received my Naturopathic Doctor diploma from Trinity School of Natural Health and a Traditional Naturopath diploma from the Institute of Holistic Integrative Studies. In the midst, I also worked alongside the medical educators at DesBio, which gave me insight into how practitioners across the country approach complex health challenges.

Today, I run a virtual and concierge naturopathic practice based in Georgetown, serving primarily women in their 40s–60s who feel their health isn’t keeping up with their expectations. With a blend of nutrition, botanicals, homeopathy, and phototherapy, I help them restore balance and build resilience.

Alright, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
It’s never a smooth road. Homeschooling six children while pursuing an advanced degree was demanding, and I knew that someday my children would no longer need me. I wanted to serve others through natural health. Just as I was preparing to launch my practice, my son was tragically killed in an accident. His loss devastated my family and buried me in grief for two years. I now understand how deeply emotions can impact physical health. My church community and colleagues in the homeopathic field walked with me through that time and helped me find purpose again.

As you know, we’re big fans of Brenda Elving, ND. For our readers who might not be as familiar what can you tell them about the brand?
More than anything, I truly care about the women I work with. Each one is unique. Your health is as individual as your fingerprint, so your wellness plan should reflect that. What sets me apart is my commitment to safety and effectiveness. You want true health, not a side effect along with your illness. I look at you as a whole person to uncover what’s causing you to feel unwell and help turn that around. Midlife and beyond should be a season when resilience allows wisdom to take center stage and nurture the next generation.

I offer in-home visits for women in the Georgetown area, as well as virtual consultations for those farther away. Just because you’re on the move doesn’t mean your care should be left behind.

We’d be interested to hear your thoughts on luck and what role, if any, you feel it’s played for you?
There’s no such thing as luck. I believe God is sovereign over all things in His creation, and that He has led me on a purposeful path. Every experience, joyful or painful, has been something I’ve learned from. I want every interaction to leave a positive impression. My grandfather modeled this for me beautifully. He would often pause for what felt like a full minute before answering a question, and when he spoke, his words carried both wisdom and love. His example of patience, prayer, and intentionality has shaped how I approach life and business.
