Meet William Moyer of Life Matters Hypnotherapy

Today we’d like to introduce you to William Moyer.

Hi William, we’d love for you to start by introducing yourself.
While working with cancer patients as a nurse, many years ago, I witnessed volunteer patients who participated in a Guided Imagery study. The results I saw were amazing. The patients experienced better response to treatment, improved appetite, better pain management and an improved outlook on life despite their cancer battle.

I chose to become certified as a way to continue helping clients when my “maturity” limited my physical ability to continue with the nursing profession.

I have now run a private Hypnotherapy practice for over 12 years and it is the most rewarding profession of my four major careers.

When my hypnosis instructor retired, I acquired the Hypnosis Certification school and in addition to my private practice, I now teach Hypnosis for Certification with the International Medical and Dental Hypnotherapy Association.

Can you talk to us a bit about the challenges and lessons you’ve learned along the way. Looking back would you say it’s been easy or smooth in retrospect?
It’s been surprisingly smooth, as I was able to take over a private practice when the hypnotist retired. It took some time to build my own clientele, but it wasn’t as much of a struggle as it may have been without the kick start.

Thanks for sharing that. So, maybe next you can tell us a bit more about your business?
I help my clients realize their own potential and empower them to tap into their abilities to make the life changes they want, but don’t think they can accomplish on their own.

I teach my clients methods and techniques in self-hypnosis in order to continue making changes to create a more fulfilling life.

I am a generalist and work with clients who wish to eliminate an unwanted habit or fear, begin or strengthen a wanted habit, improve performance as well as smoking cessation, weight management, pain management and relationship issues.

I am most proud that the majority of my clientele are a referred by previous clients.

What do you like and dislike about the city?
This may sound contrary to the experience of some, but I like the ease of getting around the city. Admittedly, with my office being only about a 10 minute drive from my home with no need to use major highways, I have an advantage that many do not.

The one thing that is getting more difficult is the congestion in the city when I have to travel beyond my little corner of it.

Pricing:

  • Insurance typically does not cover hypnosis or life coaching, so it should be considered an out of pocket investment in your health and well-being.
  • Most of my clients realize success with one session along with following up with homework.
  • Many practitioners require multiple session.
