

Today we’d like to introduce you to Isabel Olvera.
Isabel, we appreciate you taking the time to share your story with us today. Where does your story begin?
My story really began in 2019, when I started decorating events for my family and relatives. They would always tell me “You should start your own balloon business!” but at that the time, I didn’t take it too seriously-it felt like something too far out of reach. Still, I found myself practicing balloon garlands at home and even setting up full décor outside, just for fun. I would post my work on Instagram for my friends, and family to see, never imagining it would lead to more.
Then one day, a friend referred me to someone who was looking for a gender reveal balloon setup. To my surprise, the client reached out to me directly, and I got the job. I was so nervous, I remember wondering if I could really pull it off. But I decided to take the chance. After completing that very first setup, I realized how much I loved doing this. The compliments and kind words I received that day gave me the push I needed to follow what was becoming a true passion.
During my first year, I invested all my money into my business, buying backdrops, props, floral, and the little details that make a setup feel complete. Each event grew my confidence and reminded me why I started. Today, I’ve built a full inventory of backdrops, and props, and even have my own van to transport everything. More than anything though, I’ve built something that allows me to share joy, create memories, and give people the décor experience they’ll never forget.
I truly started from the bottom, with nothing but a dream, determination, and the encouragement of those who supported me. When I look back at how far I’ve come, I’m reminded that with faith, dedication, and passion, even the humblest beginnings can grow into something greater than you ever thought possible!
Can you talk to us a bit about the challenges and lessons you’ve learned along the way. Looking back would you say it’s been easy or smooth in retrospect?
It hasn’t been an easy road. Looking back, I would say the first year and a half were the toughest. I was trying to build up my inventory, figure out how to transport everything and somehow get my name recognized in Austin. All while teaching myself along the way. Being self-taught meant that every single setup was both exciting and nerve-wracking. Each one came with mistakes to learn from and lessons to carry forward, but it was all part of the process of growing.
One of my biggest struggles was transportation. In the very beginning, I relied on my dad’s good old 1999 Chevy, which he generously lent me so I could get started. For a while, it was enough, but I quickly realized that if I wanted to transport premade balloon garlands along with props, I needed something bigger. That’s when I invested in my first SUV. At the time, it felt like such a huge step forward. But as my bookings started doubling and even tripling in a single day, my setups grew larger, and soon that SUV just wasn’t enough. I found myself back at square one, overwhelmed and wondering how I would keep up. That’s when I took a leap and invested in a van, a decision that completely changed the way I could serve my clients. The van allowed me to take on more clients, transport everything in one trip, and complete installations faster and more efficiently. This became an important turning point in growing my business.
There were plenty of moments along the way when I cried out of frustration, questioning if this was all really worth it. The long nights, the heavy lifting, the financial risks-it all weight on me. In those moments, I leaned on my faith, trusting God to give me patience, strength, and guidance.
These struggles shaped me in ways I’ll never forget. They taught me resilience, faith, and perseverance. While the journey has been far from easy, every obstacle I faced reminds me why I started in the first place, and why I’ll never give up on this dream.

My business is dedicated to creating stunning, picture-perfect setups that allow clients life’s most meaningful milestones in style. Whether it’s a birthday, baby shower, gender reveals, or corporate event, I specialize in transforming ordinary spaces into extraordinary experiences. With a wide selection of backdrop rentals, carefully chosen props, and fully customizable balloon colors, each design is tailored to bring my clients’ unique vision to life.
What truly sets my work apart is the level of care and intention behind every setup. For me, balloon décor goes far beyond balloons and backdrops, it’s about curating an atmosphere that makes people feel celebrated, seen, and cherished. From the very first conversation, I take time to listen closely, envision the possibilities, and thoughtfully craft a design that reflects both their vision and my creative touch.
I also recognize that balloon décor is often considered a luxury, and with that comes a deep responsibility. My priority is to ensure that every client feels their investment is not only worthwhile, but unforgettable.
Each setup is a new opportunity for me to elevate my craft, refine my artistry, and deliver a service that is both high-quality and heartfelt. The true reward comes in those moments when clients see their finished setup for the first time, their joy and excitement are what drive me to keep raising the bar.
Where we are in life is often partly because of others. Who/what else deserves credit for how your story turned out?
My family has been such a huge part of my journey and I’m so grateful for their support. My parents have always stepped in to help with my daughter when I’m out doing décor installations, that kind of help means the world to me and allows me to keep doing what I love. My older sister has also been a big inspiration, always offering great business advice and showing me what true professionalism looks like. And my partner has been there every step of the way, from carrying heavy backdrops to inflating balloons and helping add those little finishing touches that make each setup special.
