Inspiring Conversations with Gail Hastings of The All Good

Today we’d like to introduce you to Gail Hastings.

Hi Gail, it’s an honor to have you on the platform. Thanks for taking the time to share your story with us – to start maybe you can share some of your backstory with our readers?
The All Good, a new community hangout space and bar, will open on Friday, Sept. 26 in The Railyard district of Cedar Park, featuring a sprawling patio and an on-site food truck from award-winning smashburger concept JABS. Created by Gail Hastings and Trey Dart, the couple behind the popular Shooters bars in Austin and Cedar Park, The All Good offers an approachable, laid-back space with fun for all.

Seasoned executives in the entertainment and health care industries, Hastings and Dart pursued an entrepreneurial vision in 2019, relocating to Texas and taking full ownership of two Shooters locations. Texas native Dart was raised in Jourdanton, a small town south of San Antonio, and he was especially eager to return to his home state for the opportunity to breathe new life into the cherished bar franchise that’s been a focal point of the community since 2004. The move also reflected the couple’s desire to raise their children in a supportive, family-oriented environment. After successfully guiding both venues through the challenges of the COVID-19 pandemic and becoming deeply connected to the local scene, Hastings and Dart now look forward to bringing their passion for hospitality to The All Good.

“As parents, Trey and I understand the importance of creating spaces that are welcoming to all,” says Hastings. “With The All Good, our hope is to build a space that truly resonates with the Cedar Park community – whether that looks like a laid-back weekend game of cornhole with the kids, a couple kicking off their night before heading to other bars in The Railyard or just friends enjoying good company.”

Located in the heart of The Railyard, an emerging entertainment district in Cedar Park, The All Good joins a lineup of established favorites like Shooters and Rockin J Piano Bar and a number of soon-to-open venues, reflecting Cedar Park’s growing commitment to walkable, easily accessible gathering spaces. The team tapped Designtrait Architects to transform the space, which was once a brewery, into a welcoming, full-service bar and hangout space. They applied natural materials like woods and handmade tiles with pops of color to modern design lines, creating an environment that feels comfortable and fresh while catering to a variety of experiences, from family-friendly gatherings to adults enjoying sports. The building spans 4,165 square feet, including 2,845 square feet dedicated to bar seating and 1,300 square feet reserved for events, private parties and indoor cornhole. The All Good also boasts a 2,400-square-foot patio, offering 75 outdoor seats in addition to the 95 seats available inside. The patio is dog-friendly, with service dogs only welcome inside.

Would you say it’s been a smooth road, and if not what are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced along the way?
It has been a smooth road overall despite typical new build-out construction challenges.

Great, so let’s talk business. Can you tell our readers more about what you do and what you think sets you apart from others?
The neighborhood spot offers lawn games, two Golden Tee arcade machines, cornhole (indoor and outdoor) and sports screenings on the 7-by-13-foot outdoor video wall, appealing to sports fans, fun-loving adults and children alike. A full-service bar with 20-plus beers and wine on tap – including local beer from Austin Beerworks, Meanwhile Brewery, Frontyard Brewing, Karbach Brewing, Celis Brewery, Austin Eastciders, Pinthouse Brewing, Altstadt Brewery and Independence Brewing Co. – will anchor the experience, alongside signature cocktails like the Buzzer Martini, a cold brew nitro coffee drink with Chopin vodka, and The Sand Trap, a tropical cocktail with Don Q silver rum, Malibu coconut and pineapple and orange juice. Additionally, The All Good will be home to a permanent food truck from JABS, Austin’s viral smashburger sensation.

What does success mean to you?
We hope that what we built resonates with the community and we are their go-to neighborhood hangout spot.
