Today we’d like to introduce you to Wadner Estrada Cortez.
Hi Wadner, thanks for joining us today. We’d love for you to start by introducing yourself.
My journey began in 2017, long before the inception of WePop Marketing. At that time, I was a commission based sales position promoting construction specializing in ADUs. Like many small business owners, I needed a professional website to attract clients. However, the high costs quoted by web designers, ranging from $3,500 to $4,500, were beyond my budget. Faced with this challenge, I decided to take matters into my own hands and learn web design.
I spent nights watching follow-along YouTube videos and buying Udemy courses on WordPress, SEO, and Facebook marketing. Eventually, I built my website — it wasn’t perfect, but it worked. I started sharing live videos on Facebook from our construction sites, explaining the ADU process, and before I knew it, people were reaching out. Even UCLA LAB contacted me because they were writing an article on ADUs in Los Angeles. That was when I realized the power of having a strong online presence.
From there, family and friends started asking me to build their sites. At first, it was just a favor, but as I kept improving and seeing how much impact these sites had on their businesses, I knew I’d found something special. Over the years, that passion evolved into WePop Marketing — a full-service web design and local SEO agency focused on helping small businesses in Austin and beyond grow online without overpaying for fancy jargon or fluff.
Today, after years in customer service, sales, and digital marketing, I’ve combined all those lessons into one mission: helping local businesses build websites that work as hard as they do. What started as a side project out of necessity turned into a company that now helps other entrepreneurs tell their story online and compete with the big guys — and that’s something I’m incredibly proud of.”
Alright, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
The journey was far from smooth, especially in the early stages. With no formal background in tech or marketing, I was navigating the complexities of creating a professional and functional website. The realization of the extensive requirements, from layout and responsiveness to SEO structure, image optimization, and Google’s standards, was daunting.
Building a site was just the beginning. I’d create what I thought was a great site, only to find it completely out of place when viewed on a phone. Or a Google test would reveal a terrible page speed. These were the moments that drove me to spend countless hours researching and learning about screen size, HTML Coding, image compression, mobile optimization, and all the intricate details that contribute to a site’s performance.
There were numerous frustrating nights — a single update could break the layout, or a plugin could crash the entire site. But each mistake was a lesson in disguise. Over time, I began to grasp what Google was looking for, how to build clean layouts, and how SEO ties everything together. This trial-and-error process laid the foundation and instilled the confidence I carry into every project today.
Looking back, those struggles were my best teachers. I didn’t just learn how to build websites — I learned how to problem-solve and adapt, which I still carry into every project today.”
Great, so let’s talk business. Can you tell our readers more about what you do and what you think sets you apart from others?
WePop Marketing is built around a straightforward idea — small businesses deserve someone in their corner for their website and online presence. Please think of us as your web developer on retainer. If your website goes down at midnight, you can reach me. If a bad review pops up online, we’ll help you handle it. We’re here 24/7 to ensure your business always looks good and runs smoothly online.
We don’t just build a site and disappear — we guide our clients through what we call our growth journey, from Phase 1 (building the foundation) to Phase 5 (where your brand runs like a machine, ranking on Google, getting steady reviews, and generating leads). Every phase is about building more visibility and trust step by step.
What sets us apart is our commitment to affordability. I founded this company with the memory of needing a website and not having $4,500 to spend on one. This experience shaped our approach — no inflated prices, no long wait times, and no complicated tech talk. Just honest work, precise results, and genuine support.
Our clients know they can count on us — not just for design or SEO, but for a long-term partnership. When you work with WePop, you’re not just buying a website, you’re getting a team invested in your success.”
How do you define success?
Success isn’t just about how many websites we build or how much revenue we make — it’s about seeing our clients grow because of something we created together. When a small business owner calls to say they got a new customer from their website, or that they’re finally showing up on Google, that’s success to me.
On a personal level, success also means freedom — having a business that lets me use my skills, help others, and still have time for family and the things that matter. I’ve worked hard to build something that supports me and makes a difference for other entrepreneurs trying to grow their dream from scratch, just like I did.
Real success is being proud of what you do, staying consistent when things get tough, and using your experience to lift others along the way.”
